Thanks for the comments.

Here is our reasoning, agree or disagree...

Machining for the slightly larger Porsche rotor, machining rotor adaptors and machining caliper spacers for the Porsche rotor were not cost effective.

Theses things contributing to the higher cost Porsche rotors over the Wilwood Rotors…and doing this for inferior calipers no longer make sense or monetarily. Plus you have a hat on the Porsche rotor that helps shroud airflow over the stub axle area. One to our areas of attack….air flow.

It makes no sense to us to use OEM calipers with the number of complaints we get about them.

Even with today's after market rotors, they are still, as general rule, 40% to 50% higher in cost than the Wilwood rotors we have converted to.

Brooklyn,

Thank you for your request.

I have an '83 Salisbury unit on hand for re-sale that we have not checked out yet.

Our first course of action is to check the gears and bearings, universals, hub bearings and bushings to determine its general condition.

Costs depend on what you want...you were rather non-specific other than gear ratio.
NO IRS leaves our shop with the inadequate brakes, they leave with or without one of our kits.
The one we have is 61"s wide...is this the width you want or do you want a special width?
Do you want the center section and hubs completely rebuilt, or just a checked out unit?
Do you want one of our brake kits? If so, which one?
Do want any other custom services?

So…I can't answer your question without some specifics. We are having to pay $600 - $750 locally for complete units, so you are looking at a core charge…unless you will be bringing your RR to us or furnishing a acceptable core.

I don't know where you are, but freight will be a significant cost unless you can pick it up.

A while back I came across a great webpage listing the various models and widths of jag irs. I also think it listed one or more that we’re not recommended for hot rods, but can’t seem to find it. It just shows “webpage cannot be found”. Is jh or jhe engineering and Jim still around ?? Or can anyone tell me how to get back to a page like that? Maybe it’s just my internet browsing skills. I believe his business went belly-up a few years ago. His web site disappeared for a bit, then came back with a notice stating he is putting it back up for information purposes. It was going about 6 months ago, but is now gone. I talked to him on the phone once. He was a nice guy. He had somebody working for him that seemed to be doing all the rebuilding work while he did all the office work. In that type of situation, you better hope they never quit.
