Doug,

Sorry, but I've lost sequence on your motor? "Your" post is going way out side of our Cobra "Family", Bobbie (Robert) Werner, a "Master Tech." from Ford wants to know if you need any assembly help on your motor? He is volunteering his time, tools, knowledge at extreme discounted rates to assemble your motor. But...since he is of the Younger generation FE's are not his specialty. He asked me if the "Board" would clue him in on any tricks, must do's, don't do's, etc.as needed to get you a bullet proof motor.

Basically answer any questions he may pop up with, or even just tips to make an FE a better motor. He knows over the years the FE's have had a few questions/improvements on the drivetrain.

I told him, Son, if anyone can help build a strong FE motor this Board will have the resources for all your questions!

I told him he could use my Garage of course, but the ultimate answer has to come from you. ???

DV

Soon as I get the room, I'll lay out the "Toys" -Neat stuff- that have come in for your Cobra and List the senders!

Ed,
My apologies for not calling as I said I would. I've been tied up a bit as pre- treatment testing has now begun, and it's a bit more time consuming than I had hoped. Please bear with me!

Wiring:
Doug, Bobbie would like to know how much if any of the wiring is done? If it has been started / and how much is done if you know. Do you know the brand of harness.

Bobbie is a wiring GURU so no problems there! I just finished an EFI for George Lamb's Cobra, thought I did a good thing, spliced his Air Sensor harness so he could just unplug the harness to take of his air cleaner. Found out, well George found out after his 351 started to run rich/harsh, hard to start all came back to an OEM Ford type splice and plug that I put in thinking I had done a plus.....
Ya right Turns out this sensor runs on mini-volts, with the soldering and the plug the resistance was too high.

Live and learn!

Ed,
It's a Ron Fracis harness, it's physically in place, most things have to be hooked up to it, however. I believe the headlights and fromt marker lights are spliced in, but nothing else is. The dash isn't in place so that's most of the job right there.

Thanks for the reply Ed. I know you are way to busy for a guy that just retired.
