Jeff, seeing your car out in the sun makes it look all the better doesn't it?
-Ray |
Wow, what a bunch of gorgeous ERA's. The silver, the blue(s), the red, all super duper choices. I've always liked those FIA wheels, I almost got those instead of the S/C wheels. Jeff, Ray and others, I enjoy reading about your builds. Keep the pics and info coming. Thanks.

For me, it solidifies my decision to get a car that didn't require paint, since the spectrum of colors contains WAY too many nice hues. I may have been the all-time Numero Uno Cogitater for the good folks at ERA due to the paint color decision. |

I found this red AC Ace (the forbear to the 289 Cobra) with black wire wheels and polished knock-offs listed for sale at $165k. I like the color combination!

If you like red go with Ferrari red!

FYI, this is the car that gave me the idea of the white fender stripe I had Tony add to my car. It is a right-hand drive FIA-bodied car extensively raced in the UK and still active on the vintage circuit:

Visit to ERA on 1/16/10
Here are a few photos of the current work-in-progress:

Jeffy,
Glad you had a chance to make another pilgrimage. Thanks for the pictures. Separate note, since you drove my car that time I had a chance to change out the carb and had the exhaust redone; added 50 hp and 70 ft/lbs at the wheels - I think the engine puts out about the same as what you said your target is; FYI, I think it is the perfect amount of power - make sure you get AVONS though to keep your wheels on the road. Fastd |
Jeffy,
Any idea of the time frame for you car, as to when it will be completed ? Looks like Peter and the crew at ERA are very busy as usual ! :) |

Excellent! Avons are on order. Take care, Jeff |

A few more from yesterday's visit...
This shows how hard (impossible) it is to make a color choice from pictures. Below, are two red 289FIAs: my car is in front and 2135 is in back. The reds look pretty much the same in these pictures, but are distinctly different in person. Mine is a little more orange and "old school" looking, 2135 is classic Ferrari Rossa Corsa.
