Earl, we will be praying for a speedy recovery
|
Kristen
You are such a busy renegade. I'll bet you sometimes pass yourself in the hall while going the other way. BTW: If Dallas is so boring I will be more than happy to build you a new home in the Fort Worth area. And you know I will not do that for just anyone. Especially since I am trying to get out of that business. I would build for friends and strong referrals but everyone else can go visit the crooks that are still in the construction business. Not sour grapes here, it is the truth. We are working on a new venture that will require less babysitting of grown men. Our website is currently under construction but when it is operational I will let you know. You had asked about my lift. It is Rotary 7,000 two post asemetrical lift. It is a very good quality lift and the cobras can get on it without haveing to jack up each side first. I would sell it to you for a reasonable price, just call me. The only thing is it will require twelve foot ceilings. I do not think your ceiling is high enough for that. However in our new store we are selling brand new lifts that will work in a ten foot ceiling. These will also be two post lifts but will cost a bit more but they are brand new. |
BTW: also
What kind of tires are you looking for? I have a good contact with Goodyear if you want that brand. Just let me know the series number and the size and I'll get you the cost. |
Earl,
This should help. Temperature is 80 degrees and perfect. No wind. I spent the whole morning driving the Cobras. The 69 Torino Cobra really starts to pull good and accelerate at a fantastic pace above 70MPH. I wish it would handle around corners like the replica,as it will walk all over the replica on a straight stretch or an oval track. There must have been 30 people looking at both of them and really interested in the 69 as they had never seen one. I showed them the registry papers and some of the magazine articles that has been done on it and they were amazed. One guy said they he once had a 69 GT with the 390, but it was nothing like this Cobra. Just a great morning and the grass never got mowed. :D Ron  **) |
I have to go mow the grass right now.
It really is not a bad problem to have, as some people do even not have underware. |
ahhh
A job well done, and an ice cold BUD LIGHT when I was done! Then I sat back and watched the trafic go by. It was abeautiful day outside today. A bit windy but not like it has been. |
Steve,
Well you are ahead of me. It takes me about 6 hours to mow and do the weed eating and since I spent yesterday driving around in the Cobras I need to get busy. But now the forecast is for rain tomorrow through Monday. Every time I mow and do all the clean up, the day after I finish it rains for a few days and you can just watch this grass and weeds shoot up when the sun come back out. I think I will sell the lawn mowers and use the money to buy something that is more fun. :) Ron |
Ron,
Here's an idea that could free up alot of your time. In west Texas it is not uncommon for people to pave their yards and paint it green. Maybe a circle or two with rocks with some cactus planted.:3DSMILE: |
Fred,
Several people here have covered theirs with gravel, but I also have that upper lot. Grass won't grow hardly at all in this block once the Summer heat hits no matter what you do. I have even had some of the nusery people come out and look and they can't figure out what is wrong with this ground. But it happens in all the lawns in this whole block. Only think that will grow in the Summer is weeds, burrs, and star thistle. I even priced having artificial turff put in once but it would have cost more than I spent when I built the house. So I won'thave to mow to many more times. :) Ron %/ |
Well, I heard Ed is ill. I also heard Earl was ill.
I hope you both get well soon. Waiting for it to snow. Yes, winter has decided to visit. CHeers! |
Tru,
What have you done to anger the Weather Gods? It was80 here yesterday and no wind. A perfect day and I spent the whole morning driving both Cobras. Now I see the forecast is for rain starting tomorrow and lasting through most of next week. In fact it is getting somewhat overcast here now. Oh, well, yesterday was a blast and now I don't have to mow. :) Ron %/ |
Looks like rain for the drags sunday what a drag.
Looks like rain for Carlisle saturday, what a b!tc*.:(            |
Mike,
Good to see that you are still alive. I was beginning to wonder. They are supposed to have a car show in Anderson tomorrow and I was going to drive down as it is just 20 miles, but the forecast is for rain starting tonight and lasting most of next week. So it will most likely rain tomorrow for the show and then go right to the 100 degree mark. I did go out driving all morning yesterday. Drove both of the Cobras for a while and got a lot of nice comments from the crowds that gathered when I would stop. Boy, I love driving that 69 Torino Cobra as it will just flat go. But that Big Block hates short turns and curves, plus the tires are 36 years old now. I got a lot of comments about how many years it had been since most of the people had seen the old Goodyear White Letter Bias tires. :) Ron %/ Oh, by the way, have a great time at your big car show.  |
Yea, im still kickin:LOL:
.........I'll wait to go to replica carlisle next month!:p |
hello. I'm here. I'm going. Concerned for Earl. :(
hubby and daughter are at campout. wanna know about weird weather--- been in 80's this week, and this weekend may get down to 39!! Had to pack a coat and gloves for campout. 'flying' down the highway, headed to inlaws to drop off littlest cobra girl, and boy, I got 'popped' by a trooper. ooooops!!!! Got me going 80 in a 60  !!! I was 'pulling around' someone to pass, and was coming over a hill. geez, I didn't notice I had gotten that fast. (not in the cobra). so he walks up to me, and I've already got license, insurance etc. ready. bummer. hand it to him. explain my case, of fast highway, going with traffic, just didn't realize.... yada yada... he says- when's the last time you got a citation? I said 4 years ago, and 1 10+years ago. He said, well you can take defensive driving.... my shoulders sag.... I say,,,, oh, yuck, what a drag!!!! so off he goes, to make sure there's no warrant out, I guess, and after a few minutes of writing all the ticket stuff down, he comes back. I'm being pleasant, you know, what am I gonna do??? so he says.... well, I'm just giving you a warning.... don't drive with traffic, slow down... yeah.... I said "amen brother ben!!!!" THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! It's this blasted highway.... I will slow down, for sure. Have a great afternoon, thanks again..... geez. Went home a totally different highway. I have never gotten a warning. And, actually, I forgot; I've had 3 citations. the first one was preggo with #1, second preggo with #2, third preggo with.... nah, just kidding, #4 was almost 2!! :) I hope he has a very nice weekend. went up to school to drop off scrapbook supplies for big day tomorrow. I know you all will miss me. #2 son got back from band trip this evening, and is breathing down my shoulder to play on computer. #1 got home from 8th grade trip this afternoon. He's been on it since he walked in the door.... guess I'll let the hoodlums have the computer all day tomorrow, since I'll be gone.... just gotta leave once to take #1 to soccer.... not tooo bad. #2 has baseball scrimmage. haven't worked that one out yet, but working on it.... have a great evening, and Saturday. K |
Well....... after 2875 posts, 25903 views, and 192 pages, I suppose it's time for me to stop ignoring the Ignore post and actually post something.
There. I posted something. :D |
:D
|
Well at least you got a warning. I think they stopped doing that up here abut 5 years ago. Definately 80 in a 60 zone is a huge fine. At least the output of one of your oil wells for a week. :D
Ron   Oh, yea, and MY last ticket was in 1969. He He !! |
Darned weather forecast was correct for a change. It is raining this morning so I guess I won't go down to the car show.

RAIN!? RAIN!? We got SNOW!!!!!
We are working on 8 to 12 inches on Sat and a possible 7 to 9 on Sun. Dangit, I had to move the plow out of the red barn and put in in the big barn, just in case. There's about half an inch on the grass right now and it is blowing. Well, I am down to a clutch pedal stop. I will probably have to do that one when it goes back to the 60s. Ron, Good to hear you were out and about in the snake. Please take on a vette or two for me. Blykins is getting a windshield I understand, lets hope it arrives in very good condition. Any one hear about Earl or Ed? Kristen, you got off because you are female. Well, I have to get to work. |
