Show him the cooler 601.
BTW- i don't think I'd pull spring pressure on that butterfly shaft. Might bell the the bore in the throttle plate. I made a small aluminum bracket for the last stud boss on the throttle plate and used slightly longer springs.

That's an optical delusion! The rear of the springs are connected to a Holley bracket that's mounted to the carb base flange bolt. There is no contact between springs and butterfly shaft.

Us old guys like them hose stripes too. I'll turn 60 in a few weeks.
