I need to paint my footboxes black. I don't know why I keep putting it off. What paint are you guys using?

Cheap paint or appliance paint works great as it is an epoxy and wears best. These were delivered black, not sure what is was painted with.

Next comes dead pedal and accelerator pedal. Feels good to get on this project again....

Pedals back in and plate installed correctly with blind rivets etc....

Hi Jeff,
that's a really awesome looking Cobra ! Congrats !
Can you show me a pic from the trunk and where the fueltank is located ?
Thanks, Stephan

Stephan

The aluminum box in the top of the trunk is the gas tank:

The 289 Cobras had their gas tank located right behind the drivers seat and above the differential.

Can see better here: http://a.imageshack.us/img138/4329/c...alipers017.jpg

Larry

Yes, two person job for sure. They probably add 75lbs to the weight of an alloy unit.

Cobra Pack 03-28-2011 08:34 PM

Jeff - You may want to think about tapping a hole in the top and bottom for a differential cooler. Even if you don't hook it up, you could put plugs in and hook one up at a later time.
