I am not trying to tell you what to do, but I think if you are going for 500+ horsepower you would be better off to get a 351 and stroke it. Pushing a 302 out to that limit could bring about a short life span. Talk to Great ASP as he just built his motor some time ago and has a great one. I think the highest I have seen a 302 pushed to was about 440 horse and it did hold together and preformed great.
