Engine looks great, I'm getting excited, cannot imagine how excited you must be. All the best getting the rest of the build completed. |

Jim, you do know that your engine builder has to spit in the pan before final assembly don't you? So says our old German engine builder that assembled our Porsche motors. By the way I can feel your excitement out here on the WC.

Jim, looking great and looking forward to hearing it run.Alternator needs to be swung up with the slide adjusting arm fitted to the top of the waterpump otherwise it will be in the way of the support tube which goes from shock/spring tower up to scuttle tube behind dash. Have sent you a pic which shows why . You`ll see support tube below alternator.

I sent Jim the "lesson learned" page which covers the bracket and the pan connections.

 It sure is!
Ross and Blas,

Thanks for the information. I will be making those adjustments when the engine and car arrive.

The next could of weeks are going to be brutal as I just sit and wait.

Please let me know of any other issues you encounter during the installation. A photo or two and a brief description and the fix if possible, and I will add it to the lessons learned section of the Owner's Manual. Be sure to read the section in the Service Bulletins document on how to protect the components under the hood during the placement of the engine. Blas

 Blas,
Will do. I read the part in the manual concerning protecting the frame and other parts during installation and will be following those guidelines. Thanks.

Your engine sounds angry, and ready for a fight on the race track. Congrats. |

Sorry to photo bomb your blog, but 0012 arrived yesterday. Your's should be home next week. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B00...lJQXJwLVk/view
Hope our motor sounds as good as yours.

Looks nice Mark! Mine should arrive Monday at the port and then hopefully through customs quickly and ready for me to pick up. Nice view of the underside of the car, hopefully I do not get a view of the underside on the track! Post a video of your engine when it gets running.

Should be running 3 to 4 weeks from now. It's going to have an out the back exhaust, so the sound will be somewhat muted. Looking forward to following the rest of your build.
 Mark.

 Mark,
Still waiting for the container to clear Customs. Based upon Dennis Olthoff's schedule and mine it is quite likely that I will not be able to pick it up until late next week It will be one of the fastest install jobs on record! Still planning on having it done on time, just will not see much of the family for a few weeks unless they come out to the barn.

 Jeff and Mark,
I have a big old farmhouse with lists of extra rooms! Thanks for the offers. I will have to dig up a couple of people to help with the engine and transmission install, it will make it a whole lot easier than doing it by myself, but I am prepared to do it alone also. Had the engine and transmission in and out of my MGB race car several times by myself.

 Jim
