Tom, I sent an email this afternoon/evening to Tom at Dynatek. I haven't heard about whether they approved our two-for-one deal yet.
Actually, was curious about your comment that you lose HP with the FI setup. Eric, sorry for clogging up your build thread. I love the setup and would like to here some dyno numbers and what cam you chose.

It's relevant so no worries posting on here.
I'd post the MM&FF article on here, but I am sure it is copyright protected. Interesting stuff on the Classic Injection making more hp than a carb, but my experiance says it can't.
But I really love the look of webers (not the tuning), so I hope to get the best of both worlds from my build. I'm willing to wonder how much more a carb would have produced.
If anyone wants the MM&FF article on the Dynatek Classic Injection vs carb, just PM me and I will send it to you. Good reading, but the motor was a 4.6  . No hate mail please

Tom (rokndad) relayed from Dynatek that the FI makes less HP then a carb. I read the MM&FF article and the Dynatek literature, which says the FI makes more HP than the carb, so I'm confused and emailed Dynatek. While I love the look and probably the better gas mileage, but $6,000+ for no extra HP is not a great selling point.

It's more like $8000 all in with install and dyno, return lines, new fuel lines, regulator, high pressure pump, O2 sensor bung,etc. With the discount, it may go to $7950. Just kidding, don't know what they'll say. In any event, I can't see my Hp go from 640 to much higher than that with EFI. Like Eric said, I would expect a loss. But the wow factor is over the top.

it looks fantastic !
I want to be able to afford one someday, as this injection looks the best.
Questions-
1- do you plan on anodizing or powder coating any of the parts, if so, what color ?
2- You mentioned using the "Zoops Seal" on some aluminum wheels. I've been asking about the use, application, and most of all, the longevity,.....of Zoops.
I've red the information from their website but, I want a honest, true to life customer, to give me some results.
How long have you,.... used the product ?
Is the application easy ?
Does it discolor after a period of time, chip off, peal ect.,.... ?
Can it hold up to heat and fuel, like for a intake ?
What do you do if the product needs to be reapplied ? (for what ever reason)
Again, the "longevity" is my main concern.
Please post here or email me your thoughts.
I'm anxious to see the Avon tires on your car, since our cars look very similar.
I would appreciate the "MM & FF" information.

Tom, I kinda hoping for more HP for the investment. I want to hear what Eric's specs and dyno numbers are before making any decisions.

I would be interested in this system (someday  ) even if there is a slight loss in HP. I would assume the TQ may increase, run smoother and way better fuel response. And of course looks great, on a Cobra, especially this particular EFI.

I think for about 1/2 the money, about the same difficulty, one could add a dry sump system and make/save more HP and, to me, having the oil cap on the front passenger side fender would be pretty cool too. Hmmm.

YA, but the price is worth the hassel of not having to retune the carbs every time you want to go for a toot. Besides, shock and Awe is worth it. and, there is no common rail, or return fuel lines to mess with.

Slight correction there, Mother. You may get away without return fuel lines for the small block using the Dynatek Classic Fuel Injection, but according to Dynatek Techs, an "adequately sized return fuel line" is mandatry for all us BB FE guys.

That is correct. In fact, anything over 600hp (estimated by Dynatek) needs a return line.

I treat the Alcoa wheels on our service trucks with Zoop so they do not oxidize. The old wheels (we drive the trucks all year round) really got so bad that they could not be brought back without a lot of effort. The Zoop wheels we treated 4 years ago need soap and water, and they look great.
It is not too hard to put on, but I would not want to do it on the wheels we have after the tires are on. It's easy without the tires. It takes some time, but we have not had the appearance or maintenance issue on the "zoop'd" wheels. I have never "re-applied" it.
My understanding (I have not tried it yet) is that there is no problem "Zooping" the intake. You could call Randall at Performance Unlimited and talk to him as he has.
Should have Avon tire pics soon, but no engine in the car.

HP loss with Dynatek?
Men (and Ladies if interested  ),
I spoke with Thomas Hank on the issue of possible horsepower loss, and he wrote to me as follows:
"As for HP, there's only been one or two examples that out PEAK our system at redline, and they were full blown race setups. We still have gains of 40-60 HP all over the board on them. I just like to be clear. Your car will be faster and make more tq. There isn't a single test were we've paled in comparison to a carb or efi setup; and we go into the tests totaly unbiased as to just see how it will do. It really does work excellent."
So I am getting a space suit for my new car
Drum roll, we will be seeing dyno sheets!!

Dyno Time!
Okay, I am going Friday to watch 496 cubic inches of screaming FE get dyno'd down at "Keith Craft's Palace of Power".
Mean time, Shelly Craft and Tony Loy kept my "engine build fix" going by sending me the following pics today.
There should be a video loaded soon after my return with at least one dyno run, with results.
I am "a little" excited...
