okay Steve
tell them the answer and since you know.... answer the first part about who's cobra used ice pearl in the paint job, first...David Braddy painted them both and they were both green. One was a covette color and one was a Lexus color. Anyone want to take on these questions:D
Maybe I haven't gotten oldtimers disease after all:JEKYLHYDE Jay |
One was Keith Williams CR (the Corvette color, like his green BBC Corvette) and the other was (just a guess) the LS....I cant remember his name, Clay something? Anyway it looked almost black.
|
Clay Fugate.
Had the Lone Star with the "Ice" in the paint. One of the reasons Clay sold the car was he did not like the paint job. Yes there were some problems in the paint if you looked real hard. But most people would never know unless it was pointed out to them. It was a nice car in my opinion. |
Ok here is a funny one.
Who won a trophy for best use of "gold" at a car show with his Cobra? Hint: The same car won five trophies that day at the same show. Best of Show Best Race car Best use of Gold Trim Best Paint Best in Class |
Steve,
The answer to this one has to be you with the red CR. And the reason is your engine with the Webers......and the fact they thought nickel plating should count as "gold trim". |
yea. I get a kick ut of that regularly.
However, the stacks on the Weber's were actually 14 karat gold (plated) :) |
Ok:
Going back two previous owners not counting Gary, who was the owner of Gary Sharaptas GT 40? Sorry Gary, No one can spell your name right, LOL |
spelling on this answer is critical.
I know who owned the essex wire replica gt40. You might also ask what other replicas that he owned;) and also ask when the last meeting in Austin that he attended was:LOL:
Tooooooooo easy:D ooops just reread. that seller has not been to Austin but I still know. Jay |
I know but wouldn't be fair for me to say........
|
Yea Gary, It wouldn't be fair. LOL
The car was owned by a very well respected CC member. Hint: To say he knows Weber's would be an understatement. |
Another hint:
Menomonie, Wisconsin |
Cal Metal :)
|
Yes, Gary's GT40 was owned by Cal Metal two owners before him.
I guess another good question would be who owned it before him .... But I don't know the answer to that one. Maybe Gary can help out with that one. |
do you mean Bob?? Snakeeyes???
that gt40?? was there another one?? ;) Bob picked out my handle, 'hey, little cobra" :D thanks, Bob!!!! :p  |
okay keep this one going
Cal owned it Bob bought is, Bob has been to some of our austin events and I still can't pronounce his last name. I do know that at one time he owned a non cobra or gt40 car. He posted pics of it years ago. Whether he still owns it I don't know. Two seater, lower than a cobra, chevy powered. At R&G a few years back the builder/mfg ran the fastest lap and then blew up. The car is named after him.
is that Brezzzzznskim Bresnefzenski, brezzinformed, I give up! Sorry Bob. Jay ps Gary S and Kingair you are out on this one. Jay |
Well I guess I should have kep it a little more clear. Snakeyes was too easy.
That is why I went one more owner back. The question in mind is where did Cal Metal get the car? I do not know the answer....... |

hmmm I was gonna get to the Lister, but Fred beat me to it.
and, it's BREZENSKI, Bob BrezYnski or something like that! One of the first guys i chatted with it in Austin, BEFORE i bought the Cobra from Gary. :) K |
I got a million of them
Since ERA291 is so active here...what was the very first car show and award that Gary won when he owned the car?
How did Gary, Jay and Tom get together for the first time? What car did Gary name the Christmas Tree, make and model? What year does Lightning, pizza, trailer and duct tape come into play here? Hint, we met Clay Fugate the year after but also met the present TCC club president in the same year. It is amazing that with all of the dying brain cells I can remember these things. Jay |
I'll give it a try.....
