I wonder what the car could have done with a better launch. We had 6 runs in my 1pm, then some guy red late model GTO left his transmission on at the starting line. They couldn't push it off the track, so a bunch of us went home.
Mike was the man, small block and I think he ran 11.1 or something. I can tell you, the back end of his cobra looks really nice - never saw the front of it, but the back was all good. It was a good time!

Jim what did you run? How did you do representing the BDRs?
12s? 14s?

Didn't represent well
Sid,
It was not my best work. I ran high 12's with those lousy 60 foot times. If I could have done a bit better with the launch, I imagine low 12's, high 11's are not out of the realm. For example, I ran a 12.9 with a 2.4 60 foot time, fishtailing out of the gate. I also spun them at the top of second gear when the tires broke loose again. I was experimenting with different launch RPM's and blew a couple of runs and went into the 13's, coasting throught the traps and cussing enough to make Andrew "dice" Clay blush.
I think the car is easily mid to low 12's with a decent driver. The clutch was just adjusted a week before and I still don't have the feel totally correct.
You need to come along next time and repair the damage I have done!

Hey I think Jimbo did you all proud.
He did great for his first time out.
He don't know it yet but being in the 12 club is anot a bad thing
You all missed a great day for racing, there was maybe 50 cars racing..total
These guys get going round N round most runs I've seen yet for our club.
Barbs car was awsome 10.66 @ 144 not bad at all!
I got some pics I'll post them a little later if I get the chance.

Guess the smoke was blocking the view of the scoreboard-----124mph, but we feel that from the et it ran that it will run well into the 130s with some bigger headers

Smoke
Maybe most people can't see Barb's car, but I can. After a day with all of you guys, I have gotten pretty good at seeing cars through smoke, particularly the tail lights (Barb's, Wolfie's, Mikes - pretty much everyone's).
Someone get Wolfie to download all the video and pics, my dad used his video camera and got every that showed up at least once.

Since you didn't attend, some evidence of your attendence at the wine tasting event that conflicted with a man's sporting event must be displayed. Pics of you with the yuppies, sipping the chamomile with little finger suitably extended, and of course pitures of either the 5 series BMW or the Honda Odyssey.
Maybe then you geta taste of the tire smoke, squealing tires, unmuffled exhaust, and racing fuel.
The Neely's ought be on some version of a watch list!

I was at a baseball game! Good old american past time.... Ok fine I WAS tailgating with a guy that drove a Range Rover. Pretty sure that is a - points. But his daily drive is a S6 Audi! Oh crap... I'm sadly not related to him. Instead I'm related to my brother. Subaru Forester and a HONDA ODYSSEY.
Somebody hand me an bigger shovel I need to dig a bigger hole.
