Spring Drag Race Day @ Byron Raceway
OK, boys and girls... yeah that includes you Sid.
Tune em, tweak em, lower the air in the rear slicks cause it's that time again!
The day for the spring drag day is set, Saturday May 9th 2009.
(Fair warning: this is the day before mother's day, buy her something on Friday on the way home from work. Or you may have a hard time convincing her why you NEED to spend $_____ insert number here, on your car now.)
There is usually a gathering at a local breakfast establishment.
We'll keep you posted on that.
Let the trash talking begin...
I read on a different thread that a certain "somone" was not beleiving in 11.4 GN's?
Tired of hearing the legend? Black and / or white cars are naturally faster, everyone knows that! Why would you paint a car any other color? (Here we go...duck incoming)

Arcenio, you must have heard the roar of the red rocket coming to life. I think this year some new spark plugs may be in order. Is the black car running yet? I know John's car is as he was manly enough to drive a couple weeks ago.

Oh yeah! It starts and runs, although I pulled the dash to change the gauges and may have bitten off a little much hmmm...I guess we'll see. I've asked Richard to come over to help me but after a couple of beers we'll see how we do.
I guess as long as the car doesn't start running backwards it'll be OK.
Hello... hey is this thing on? Hello, Hello....

The rookie should be there.
I have got the kids soccer covered that day, so other than the slave or clutch cylinder issue I am having, I should be good-to-go.
Can anyone help fabricate a couple heat sheids and re-run some lines in the next couple weeks?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

So what's the theme going to be this spring?
Low ET
Most consistent
bracket racing
best wheel stand, LOL
quickest 1/8 mile
quickest 60'
Quickest car on street tires ( no drag radials or slicks)
sb vs bb
bb vs bb
sb vs sb
red vs blue
silver vs black
?
Or just brats and burgers in the pits..............
any other ideas?

Sten - that's the fender waxer award. Most of them are afraid of getting their car dirty at the track. They either park in the remote lots, or show up in the daily driver.
Arsenio, when I turn the key, nothing happens, is it electrical you think?

No Mike,
That's your car showing you that it doesn't want to show up at the track and get beat like the "red" headed stepchild that it is. Maybe it doesn't want to be waken up from its winter nap for the light work that the V-6 turbos are? LOL
Or maybe it's the Fear of the mighty blue cars kicking it down the track again. Ouch.
I say we do a street tire shootout. No drag radials or slicks. Just careful driving..........
Who's in? Besides Al, the king of the street tire times (Blue car of course).

Just wait till I get my spark plugs changed
Won't Wolfie give you back the drag radials or are you trying to save the halfshafts?
Al is the reason why I don't run street tires, If I have the DRs on, I can always claim to have had the pressure wrong, or left too soft, or left the line too hard, or bogged off the line, etc. I don't have to use the blue car excuse - I missed a shift!. What? did you forget? They moved the stick?

Lighter car?
Yeah Chris my car is probably lighter than yours.
I Like the street tire idea.
The fender waxer award... brings back sweet memories
Mike, check the left muffler bearing, located next to the depression valve.
Kick that twice ,slam the hood, then it should start, you gotta remember it's a red car, they always act a little funny.

Wolfie should have a new clutch by the end of the week. I wonder if Mary will let him go to Byron ever again? He did lose 2 half shafts there. lol.

I will probably go to Byron. I bought a cannister of Mothers wax. I think that I will just try my hand at buffing and waxing and spectating. I hate to break it @ the beginning of the driving season.
Oh wait a minute,,,,,,,, new halfshaft + new clutch + Wolfie thats gotta = RACE TIME!!!!!
Oh but wait a nother minute,,,,,,,,, I still cannot find a replacement gear shifter boot!!! I better go back to plan #1 and try waxing. NOT!!
