Gary,
I am thinking about another project....how much for that old worn out 427 you have sitting around?

It cost me close to 15K to complete it-how bout 10,500 with all bolt ons less the remote coil which I plan to use with Brents motor. He is getting me new brackets, pullies, etc...so this one will be drop in ready

Nice, that is quite different from the online Crate specs.
Seems like a fantastic motor at a great price.
Is the car in Jersey or Florida?

Gary and I have discussed various options and theories at length. Forced induction requires EFI or a blow-through carb, which can pose tuning issues. Turbos require a full set of custom headers with custom piping, along with extra room under the hood. Blowers require the same.
Gary prefers the "higher strung" engines...I think he's just bored with the current engine being done at 5500-6000. He wants more power and a higher peak.
The end result will be a nice "hybrid" engine....and we'll aim for the perfect blend of street and race engine. The solid roller cam that I chose will require a seasonal lash check, but my no means is it a "spring eater" that will require constant maintenance. It will run on pump gas. It will not require constant carb tuning or rear wheel dyno sessions to get the tune correct.
My goal is to always meet the customer's needs and wants, and I spend a vast amount of time going over every single detail. Gary knows that he can change his mind at any time......and we have made a few changes already.

Should have some parts trickling in this week. Bullet hit my debit card, so they're shipping a cam. Heads are on their way to the head porter, intake is en route, block is ordered, Callies crank is ordered, Oliver rods are ordered, Isky Red Zone EZ Roll lifters are ordered, and custom Race Tec pistons are ordered.
I love the smell of new engine parts.
Also working on some custom valve covers....

Mat, trust me, you're not the only one that has wavered on their part selection and decisions.....it makes for an interesting endeavor.

Brent, how do you like that Holly Ultra HP carb vs a Quickfuel, I think the Holly looks better, but is it better, would you choose it for an FE build over the Quickfuel...?

At this level of carburetor, either one would work really well, and we can infinitely tweak on them. It comes down to budget (Holley is more expensive) and what you want it to look like.

let us know how it works on the dyno, some of the guys on speedtalk were complaining of running rich at part throttle.

I read on speedtalk, that even though they both can be 950 in size the Quick Fuel actually has a larger venturi size than the Holley?
