Well here's your update, Patrick.

Thought I would take a break and work on my own stuff, since it is my birthday and everything.

Got the girdle mocked up, matched the oil pump feed hole from the girdle to the block, then started to drill/tap all the lifter galley holes for pipe plugs.

Got 2 done, broke a tap.

I'm done for the day.

Man, watching this thread is like watching the typical Yankees-Red Sox marathon, er, game.

The batter steps in and out of the batters box, adjusts the various parts of his body and uniform, then the pitcher adjusts his various body parts and uniform, wipes the sweat of from his brow, toes the rubber, looks in for the sign, 30 seconds later, throws a pitch.

Default My Secretary Gave Up...

Well I just got an email from my secretary saying she has given up on getting an engine update from Brent. She is now going home -- sad and bewildered.

Default As Time Goes By....

One thing this thread shows me is that time is literally flying by. When I was a kid, I remember time seemed to move like cold molasses. But now I blink and weeks have gone by.

Amen to that. Remember when you were a kid and summers seemed to last for eternity? The older I get, the faster time goes by.

The block is being machined. When it's done, it will get washed, get a nice coat of paint, then the freeze plugs and galley plugs will go in. Saving my lunch money for more parts.

I know I've been away for a while and Brent's busy on several fronts, but no update since Sept of last year?

Hey Brent - you gonna be able to squeeze in any time on building your own engine?

Hey, wait a minute... didn't I buy the parts for that engine? Whatever happened to that project?

You bought "a" part. It got auctioned off, remember?

I don't have time for a Cobra. I don't even have time to build an engine for myself. I don't have time to fart.

Oh, yes... it's all coming back to me now. That was fun. Famous "Going to get back into the game" custom camshaft up for bid... We haven't had an update on Doug's build (767Jockey) in a while now -- and that thread was a year and half ago. Isn't it now down at elmariachi's shop somewhere just this side of the Rio Grande?
