Take your time and come up with the specs and who you would like to grind it. I think the turnaround on a custom cam is pretty quick and I will order it when you tell me you're ready for it.

So ignore the rest of the comments? Why in the world would you "whittle", your words, your engine away? Why give yourself a 50/50 chance?

Ok, here ya go:

Call Bullet Cams: (662)893-5670 Ask to talk to Richard.

Tell them you want a custom solid flat tappet camshaft on a Ford FE core.

Intake lobe = FF284/357
Exhaust lobe = FF297/365
LSA = 110, and tell them to grind it with 6 degrees advance.

I'm in no hurry for it. That will give you enough time to get it in, take pictures, then nit pick it to death on Club Cobra.

OK, I'll get on it next week. What are the specs for those lobes in lift/duration?

Default The Updated Cam Lobe Profiles

OK, Brent has updated the lobe specifications. Here are my instructions, as I understand them. I'll place the order on Monday.

A custom solid flat tappet camshaft for a Ford FE core by Bullet Cams.

Both Intake and Exhaust lobes shall be FF284/357.

Lobe Separation Angle shall be 110 degrees.

The cam should be ground with 6 degrees advance so that when installed the intake center line will be 104 degrees and the exhaust center line will be 116 degrees.

If the lobes are not already nitrided, have them do that as well.

-------------------

FWIW, the FF284/357 lobes are spec'd at

Advertised --- 284 degrees
At .050 --- 255 degrees
At .200 --- 169 degrees
Lift .3570
Lash .011
Type CRA

Good to see you are coming back....I built 5 of these and jumped out my self 5 years ago and missed driving Cobra every since. Stayed active on the site and the Cobra buddies here in Dallas and decided to do a 6th one and just finished it. Good luck with your build......

I think you put a few words in my mouth, Patrick....my message to you was way shorter than that....LOL

Just so you know, if you want to "speak the lingo" when you order this cam, you don't have to give them the intake centerline and exhaust centerline. Just give them the core, lobe numbers, LSA, and how much advance you want.

When you give an LSA and advance, it's understood what the intake centerline is....then the LSA is the ICL and ECL added together divided by 2. I don't want Richard thinking you're a ying-yang.

I only added that for ERAChas so that he would understand. He's always had a mental block when it came to cam events, TDC, BDC, and the like.

Of course. Wouldn't want you wiping a lobe on the break-in....

No you're not. I'm going to send it to you anonymously in a brown box with no return address. You'll then be SOL.

I'll let you give me a nebulous "credit" to be called in at a future date the next time by Cobra breaks, which is a sure thing by anybody's call.

I'm SO VERY disappointed.

What's next? The Quicktime SFI rated bellhousing is not SFI rated?
