I'm sure he's hanging it from a rope by its end, you know, like you do crankshafts.

That's exciting stuff. Do tell. We're all hanging on the edge of our seats.
Did you put the cam down one-handed or two-handed? Have you dropped off Patrick's magic GM liquid at your local used oil recycler yet?

Finally getting my head above water again.
Plan to take the block to have it baked/tumbled/cleaned/pressure tested next week.
Scat is on national backorder for FE crankshafts, so unless I get creative, I may be waiting a long while.

This is an awesome thread... in fact it's pushed me over the edge in my decision on what engine to build ! Thanks to Patrick...
Brent, as long as Pat is buying SFT cams, let's do the 331 we talked about, but with a flat tappet ! Just tell him what to order from Bullet . 'Course, I'm on the same slow train as you with my build... but hey, they can keep each other company on the engine stands in your shop ... and once you get yours done that will give you more time to warm up to putting the SFT in my engine .

No offense Patrick, but if you take a picture of my bump-stick with that doggie you'll need to put a bag over her head...

Paul, you need a roller cam.
I'm using this cam for 3 reasons:
1. It was free.
2. This is my engine, not a customer's engine, so no real liability.
3. I'm curious to see how the nitriding and fancy lifters will work.
By the time a regular customer buys a $$$ nitrided cam and $$$$ fancy lifters, you're over the cost of a typical SBF hydraulic roller combination.
You also need something bigger than a 331. ~370ci, hydraulic roller, AFR heads, 500hp. Badda boom, badda bing.
