Of course we all want to believe it, but let's all see who confirms this story. Consider the source. Where are pics and details of such an "important" car?
What was it that PT Barnum said?

Just out of curiosity, do any of the non '60s Cobras ever sell for more than their purchase price after the first owner is done with them? Is there truly a monetary investment value to these special editions? I'm talking real sales here, not "appraised value."

Yes, several of them do.
Shelby, Kirkham, ERA, Contemporary to name a few seem to do quite well. I'm sure someone will let me know which ones I forgot to list!

Having been involved in the sale/resale of over 100 cobra replicas to date, I'll strongly disagree with that statement. It is extremely(EXTREMELY) rare in this day and age to come across an original builder/buyer who can get his original investment out of the car at time of resale.

When I bought my Superfromance the roller price was $40grand, I was able to put the car together, drive it for years, and sold it for what I paid for it due to the price increase of the roller, same will go with Kirkhams, I bought my roller out the door for $70grand, I have already made $30grand just on that, I guarantee I could sell it for more than I have in it due to the cost to build one with the roller prices through the roof, its all about timing...

That part might be true, but I dare say many pre-owned can be, purchased and flipped for a profit.
Surely the fact you've done it 100 times is testament to that, yes?

I've only personally owned 27 to date, but yes, if you are in the right place, at the right time, you can buy cars for profit .
Yet, with each one you or I buy, you take a chance that there may be something wrong with the car, and that is why the car is being sold in the first place. It's a gamble few are willing to take, preferring to sit back and watch others take those chances.

alve and well
Good evenng too all. Tonight I was called by a friend, a frequest poster and viewer of this forum, who alerts me of posts that might be of interest to me. It has taken quite some time for me to read through this entire thread. I wanted to respond immediately, in a short note, here now, and then prepare a formal and complete response. I have seen hostile exchanges in this thread and several others that I read in the past. I really don't know and of your real names or your CC names. Before anyone jumps all over me, and says who the he-- is this jerk as alluded to above, I suggest they fine a friend's copy of the Spring 2013 SAAC Shelby American magazine online, by a copy of the 2013 annual, or become a member of SAAC. You can read the story of my car and my life with it the THE PARTS. will continue immediately
