Latest recognition... I won People's Choice at the monthly "Crusin' Daytona" car show last night. :)

I liked that comment

Went to a car show for Geelong speed trials promotion today. I came back from looking at all the other cars and my son says "there was a guy looking at the Cobra and he said I saw heaps of these in the UK but I never saw a real one". I said to my son you should have said to him you still haven't.
Cheers,
Bryan

Hey Batma.....uh, I mean Byron, I looked through your gallery and noticed that your car is called "Project Ludicrous Speed". Which I find hilarious as hell. But I do have one question for you; has that monster supercharged BB made your car go "plaid" yet?:D

Great car man, Steve

P.S. Almost forgot; does Dark Helmet know that you stole his ride? BaaaaHaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!

I had two cool things happen with my car this past summer. First at a local "Hot Days-Cool Cars" show in a local park my car was picked as the Ladies Favorite Car award winner. The second was at the 2007 WSCB when my car was awarded one of the ten trophies given at the car show on Saturday. They used two combined catigories to select the winners; Well-built cars inside and out with attention to detail, and Very obvious evidence of use, fun, and most impostantly, being driven. I'm sure that the second part of the catigory is the most responsible for my winning as my car is 26 years old and has lots of "patina". The funny part of this story is that they gave the awards in secret at the bash by just leaving the trophies in the cars of the winners with no announcement or fanfare. It was not untill I read the story about the Bash in the December issue of Kitcar Magazine that I realized what the trophy was for. Many thanks to the WSCB gang as being selected by ones peers is tuly an honor.

After I sold the Cobra last July, I started watching for my next muscle car and in August I brought up an 06 Corvette Z06 from California, (car had 4,400 miles on it and was 55% of what they sell for here in Canada).

Anyway I now have had 5,000 miles of driving around town to see the difference in recognition this car gets is very different than the Cobra! Where the Cobra was a source of never ending conversation the vette gets furtive glances and cold stares like I must be a drug dealer or something. %/

Still, I am not bored with the car yet!

OKAY, here is mine...

I returned from Phoenix today after a short business trip. Decided I would get a quick 90 minute workout at the gym. Took the Kirkham and the parking attendant said 'park it right here' (up in front). Alongside is a a Porsche GTR RS and a Mercedes SL AMG.

90 minutes later, I leave the gym and visit with the parking attendant. She says" you should have seen the paparazzi! A local station film truck showed up and filmed your car...by the way there were a lot of people looking at the car...I had to tell them to stay away from it!".

Pretty cool. Do not know what station the film truck was from, etc. But I am going to watch the local news tonight. My wife thinks they were doing a piece on 'non-green cars'.

Nice ride

These cars are amazing. I owned a 67 Gt390 Covertable Mustang that never got noticed like my Cobra.
I had two cars follow me into a shopping area parking lot just to look over the car and chat.
A young man at a gas station came running over and asked where I had Found my Cobra. I guess he thought it was an original 60's car.
Yesturday was a nice day so I took my car on a ride and happened to pull up next to a school bus. I seen one girl notice the car and before long I see all the kids on the bus standing up and coming over to window to see my car. It's nice when a 60's looking car can grab the attention of our youth.
Most cars don't pass by without slowing down. These cars are definatly cool.

Here is one for you. I had my CSX car at a 4 day car show at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf earlier this year. The show was sponsered by the SF Ford Model A club. There were all types of cars from low riders to Model A's to a Boss 429 Jag to a 82 Toyota Supra. Anyway, there was a parade on Friday that was led by San Francisco's Mayor. We started at Fisherman's Wharf, went to SF City Hall, down Market St., thru the Financial dist. then Northbeach and back to the Wharf. We had a SFPD escort the entire way. So that meant NO STOP LIGHTS or TRAFFIC! That was way cool! But the best part was when we went by a elementary and middle school. All the kids were at lunch and came running to the fence to see the cars. When I went by, I waived and gave a bit of a rrrreeeeevvvvvv!!! It was great to hear all the kids cheer and scream. That made the parade all worth while.

The other day I was driving thru town and an old lady looked about 106 years old was walking out of church. She looked up as I passed by and gave me a thumbs up.

Yup, pullin' in tail with SPF2626:LOL:
