Im a school teacher and I reached a whole new level of credibility with the kids. Took the cobra to school yesterday - not the first time but the first time I parked it in a conspicuous spot. Couple of year 9 boys walked past and asked a few questions with mouths wide open, before finishing with...."You built that....wow....teach me your way".

New Zealand cobra coments

I was out in the FIA on Christmas eve (28deg C) and I stop to put some gas in the tank when a youg came up to me and said:- "Sick Ride Bro" I can translate it if you wish.

Was at our Sunday morning cruise spot chatting with the LAPD officers cruising thru the lot, and they stopped and looked at my Cobra in the lot, and they gave me a thumbs-up as they drove away.

On a good little drive up Little Tujunga Canyon off the 210 freeway, I got two "thumbs-up" from a couple of rice-rocket riders as they were parked on an overlook, ANOTHER "thumbs-up" from a Subaru WRX as he piloted his machine thru the twisties, a bunch of whhops and hollers as I passed a road construction crew doing some repaving of the road, and a "Cute car" from a nice-looking cougar-type as I parked the Cobra in the In-n-Out for lunch.

I don't know if "hot rodders" get the sme amount of recognition as do Cobra owners but the recognitons keeps on coming everytime I drive the car.
Today for example, some guys asked if he could take a picture of the cobra at the gas station, next some people stopped in the intersection while making a turn and gave me a "thumbs-up", then at a local motorcycle dealer a crowd of old retired bikers surrounded the car and just drooled and smiled along with the mechanic sayin, "I wish I had it".
Unreal !

I'm not going to say where or when this happened.........
I was at an all Cobra car show one time when a man
and woman pulled in in there beautiful Cobra that
really shook the ground whe they went buy (big motor)
and as they went buy where i was parked she spotted my car
and was pointing at it and was trying to say something to
him but i dont think he could hear her....well they parked 2
cars down from where i was and when they got parked she
jumped out of the car ran over to where i was and she just
could not stop telling me how beautiful she thought my car was
then when he walked over to where she was with me she spun
around and said "isnt it the most beautiful Cobra you have ever seen"
"will you make one just like it for me?"......
I dont think he was to happy the rest of the day......

Kudos on the car winning and what you did with the $100.

Slowly passed a new Corvette Z06 on the freeway. I slowed down a little, and he slowed down a little, staying a ways back. I figured he didnt want to "play", so I just slowly pulled away and went about my business.

MET FUTURE NASCAR DRIVER
I took a shortcut through a nearby neighborhood and three boys about 10-12 years old stopped me to get a picture of the car. They were very excited and asked lots of questions. Then one of them asked me how fast it would go. I've never had it over turnpike speeds, but I pointed at the speedometer and said I wasn't sure, since the gage only went up to 180. His response: "That's OK mister, that's still pretty fast".

I was out driving Sunday afternoon and noticed a Toyota truck pacing my Cobra a couple lengths back and in the next lane. I took a couple turns, kinda just wandering when the Toyota pulled up beside me at a light. The gentleman driving rolled down his window and shouted he had passed up his turn quite aways back because he just wanted to listen to my car. There's just something about those FE's.:3DSMILE:

I've only had my car a few weeks, but I can tell that the fun is just beginning. First trip from the house. 2nd stoplight. There was an open lane between myself and the left turn lane. I was just enjoying being in the car myself when a guy in the passenger seat of a VW ragtop bug yells at me. I look over; he leans back and the girl driving screams at me, "nice seatbelts"!!! This is the most fun you can have driving 45mph!!!
