I think..... if you look behind where the seats are there is a step before the rear bulkhead. I am pretty sure the rollbars go all the way to the floor at that spot.

If I am wrong I am guessing Craig will let you know.

I'm just curious since I've been fixing up my roll bar mounts lately.

It'd be nice to see them installed there since that will give a much more original look.

Whoaaa well done mate. Looks impressive. The base package and the up grade package looks very reasonable also.

After looking at the detailed photos and the eye for detail you guys have I can see why there was so much R+ D and time involved in creating this chassis and body.

Look forward to seeing it all in the next few weeks.

I will drive the Cobra up before it gets too cold...... I need to get a few kilometres on it.

Bernie remember you're heading up to Godzone.
It doesn't get cold up here.
The summer heat and rain have gone and from now until November is perfect Cobra driving weather.
Of course if you have to turn around and head back down to the badlands, well that's a different matter....
I wonder if Craig will be offering some sort of heating system for seats, steering wheel and footwell together with Antarctic-grade soft-top insulation as a "south of the northern rivers" option? Or some driving mitts emblazoned with the Pace logo?

Anyway it'll be good to see you and the silver bullet up this way again.

I want I want I want......... these look great and almost seems a crime having the boot and interior lined.... leave it exposed for that great alloy work.

Great work guys..... I had seen the tacked up version however it just looks so complete.... and also... an alloy chassis.... who does not want that.

Thanks Guys, we are very pleased with the results. We have met all of our design goals. It's much more impressive in the flesh, well I think so anyway.

That thumbnail photo approach is not really cutting it resolution wise. Will post up some higher resolution photos so you can see all the goodness better.

Dave, none complete and running yet, although we have sort of road tested one on the computer. Well simulated anyway. With the tools and resources we have, we won't need that sort of development approach where the product needs extensive testing to sort the design out. We've spent the time and money at the start and prototyped the aspects that needed prototyping. Can't wait to get one on the road, the ride quality and performance will surprise a lot of people.

Mike, that chassis is missing a few minor things and one of them is roll cage mounts. We don't know yet whether it will have just driver or driver and passenger mounts, so have not fitted any yet. On the step at the base of the rear wall we have heavy wall alloy sockets that are welded in to mount the main hoop. Then another socket in the boot for the rear stay. So yes it will have the original look of exposed bars. But for guys that like them hidden we will have a dress panel that covers them etc.

Looks spectacular! I love the squared off wheel tubs. No more rubbing tyres...!
I would have thought that it would push the seats a few inches further forward, but if you're planning on fitting 6'5" guys, it's clearly not an issue.

I didn't think I ever wanted a right hand drive Cobra again, but I think I've just changed my mind.

Very impressive Craig, you really got that chassis stiffened up heaps! For comparison, the CR round-tunbe is rated at 5680Nm/degree

Wheelbase is the same as the original.
Track is very similiar to the original, I would need to look it up.

Craig, we worked our way backwards. Mounted our seat in the cabin first, pushed it back as far as you could go before headrest hits the rear body and made the wheel tubs touch the back of the seat. They are not quite square, but they are as roomy as we can make them.

With the chassis stiffness, we worked to our own criteria - stiffness & strength required to meet our performance & safety targets while keeping the product as light as possible.

Loving this from a engineering/design/materials perspective and the quality/workmanship look wonderful...

Questions:

- Will the body be to original CSX proportions, or will there be some compromise in the body design?
- Will the front suspension geometry support a powered steering rack?
- Any export or distribution plans for the US?
