Busy day yesterday, first up was cleaning up the Cobra, as the local SuperCheap has expanded into a Superstore, so they had a grand opening and asked for a few cars to display in the carpark.

While the car was out on display, I went back home and organised to get my Charger project in the shed, so I had to mount wheels on the rotisiere, and at 1pm some mates came over and we pushed it into the new shed.

I wont be doing a great deal with it for a while yet (apart from when no other jobs on the go) but atleast now it is inside and under lights, before it was out under a lean too and poor lighting as well as being in the wind (makes it hard to weld)

After a couple of celebratory beers my mates went home, we had been saying how hot it seemed, here is a snap one mate took while driving back into town.

Last weekend I helped another mate move his little buzz box.

He has the driveline sitting in his lounge room (he is a single young fella), it has been dynoed at over 850hp running 23Lb boost, he wants to run mid 8's
We took it to another mates were it will be seam welded and a willwood pedal box fitted with under dash booster.

I like the old MG in the first pic Dave. That is a great colour could look terrific on a Cobra.

Last night my local car club had our annual Christmas lights cruise.
Here are some pics from the night.

Santa dancing with his twin.

And some of the kids enjoying a bubble machine. About as close as we get to snow in Alice Springs.

Tools down Dave, 44's way too hot for working. Should be sitting in the river under a willow tree.
36 is common here and i HATE that!

We have had only one 30 degree day so far and that was not even in summer - 24th November. December so far - one 26 deg day and the rest under 25.
Haven't even dragged out the summer doona yet, let alone kicked it onto the floor

Been a little strange at Portland also.

A rather warm day that saw evening heavy rain. Then high winds and rain overnight.

My elderly neighbor put me at ease by telling me it was similar weather to 1967 when her son had his 21st birthday party on the beach.

Whoa for a moment I thought Al Gore may have been right and climate change was really real -

I remember back in the early / mid sixties...I was a little kid but the regular summer afternoon hail storms made a big impression...The back yard was slick and fun after the storm...until someone got hurt then mum ended the play. ha ha ha Maybe the weather cycle is coming back around. This time all our houses, cars etc are a little more fragile than those back in the sixties.

Have been looking these past months at purchasing kit from local supplier.
Had virtually decided on a couple of kits and go and have a look at, printed out $$ from their sites before Xmas. Looked at one site after new year and was shocked to see price increase of between 40%-100%+ (complete kit stayed same) extras like wheels/mats/optional rear ends/bumpers etc etc.. had increased
Went to the American site, the original price list I had printed out was theirs. At those inflated prices why would you buy here. Even after shipping etc way cheaper.
I am now reconsidering wether to buy from this local kit supplier
