Bob Putnam, I believe you meant the Motorcraft FL-1A.
That's the best filter I've found for an FE also and the one I'd recommend.
As BnB said, don't use Synthetic oil until after your engine is broken in or it will never break in. I think the best break-in oil is Havoline Racing 15-50. Change the Havoline oil at 500 miles, 1000 and at 2000. When you have 4000 miles on it then you can change to Mobil 1 if you prefer it. I waited until I saw a significant drop in my oil consumption before I changed to synthetic, then I new the rings had set. I have chrome rings which take a little longer to set.
