Sounds great Steve! Can't wait to see #54 on a Skyline run to Alice's.

The Sanderson guys did a wonderful job on the headers - cant wait to get it on the street.
Carlo and Jay there were super good about the custom nature of the system and offered some suggestions to make this work even better that originally intended.
Thomas Kirkham has been a constant source of support and the fuel tank they generated is a work of art. -- i couldn't bring myself to put gasoline in it for a while.
Peterson Oil tanks, that tank is beautiful and makes almost no noise as the baffle plates absorb the incoming oil and negate the gurgling to almost nothing.
I will try to document some of this build a bit better and write some online explanations -
one pet peeve though - Dear South African guys at High Tech , please call and email back the Parts department in Irvine. - i understand you are busy, - but feeling unsupported here in this rebuild/restoration.
Dear - Jimmy Price, - I love the car , I love Superformance, - that is why I have 2 of them. -do please understand -I just like to tweak things and make them even better than they were / are. even in my own work , I look at ways we could do and construct things to a higher standard each time we do something. This includes building office parks, network rooms, data centers, and the auto businesses.
thank you all for your support.
--Steve

Steve - been a few months since your last update - what's up? What's new with the coupe? What new interesting mods have you done?
Best
Jeff

Big news ; The coupe is finished ! #54 made it to Monterey in August , drove herself 500 miles during car week with only minor teething issues to report, she has over 600 miles on it now , and I have revised a few key items, like the placement of O2 sensors and the charge wire routing from the alternator to the core bus on the fuse block. ( we also had a power steering hose pop off due to a hose clamp. - no biggie!
The best part of the week was multi fold -
Doug Campbell ( coupe 88 ) and Peter Brock were waiting for me at the drive way of the hotel on our way in - and greeted #54 with applause , keep in mind we had final allignment done earlier that day and our testing was 2 Laps arround the shop , a short drive to the gas station and back, and then 87 miles driven to Monterey.
Note - she got 23 mpg on the way down to Monterey !
Newly designed clutch and Big-Brake setup work well, in fact we are now able to perform that brake update in house at Panavia now, takes about a week to get it done to your Daytona Coupe. There are minor variations in chassis so we have found, but we can overcome them.
The car was on display at the Baja cantina event , and went over very well. Lance caught up with me on hwy 1 , and rolled down his window and was cheering #54 !!! It's on the road !!! Lance and I flew in tandem to Baja Cantina - for the Thursday gathering.
Bob and Pat Bondurant came by during Baja and Bob was very complementary of the coupe , as it is wearing #54 as the nerburgring car of 1965. Bob sat in and geeked out with me on the touch screens and insides and signed my dash !
#54 was on display with 16 of her breed at the Monterey Jet Center Party , where she has shown up in many news photos of the event , which makes us feel quite proud of what we have accomplished.
Saturday was great at the track , wish I could have been part of the parade lap , but there were just too many cars, and there were many people that wanted to be on the parade lap worse than I, - so next time !
I am moving to a new machine and will finally have enough room to have my photos all in one place , so I can host and show all the interesting things we can do and have done -
There are things I need to revise and update, and I think eventually I will be putting in a set of rossion or noble seats ( version of a sparco ) but for right now , we are working on some driveability points and suspension tweaks, I have re-valves a set of bilsteins to work with the setup we have. Keep in mind we have revised some of the front end geometry to be closer to the original design intent and there is some tire rub issues I am working through on my example.
Photos on their way - will try to update later this week !

It has been a year since i have updated this thread , - we have been busy at panavia.com with our customers builds and are truly blessed to have such good customers.
I recently upgraded the steering shafts and bearings, as well as other items and I will post some insights to them here.
look forward to photos and info in this space.
