Without the resistor, the charging system will NOT work (if the amber light is burned out.)

This is Tom, lead tech for Bennett Coachworks. Just wanted to add that the resistor is wired in parallel with the "Idiot" light and a 1/2 watt resistor is all you need. Also it does not have to be exactly 500 ohms, Radio Shack stocks 470 ohm, 1/2 watt resistors that work great for this application.

Love Excaliburs
Tom
I own my second Exicalibur Cobra. My current one is a 1993 and my VIN is 003, which is an original blue with white stripes and 17,000+ miles.
We are currently building out the engine with duel 4's, alum. heads, great cam, etc
I would like any info that might be out there on Excalibur and especially my VIN. I purchased it from the original owner who was a wonderful lady with a great love for this Cobra

Here is the specific info from Bob Bennett on his jig welded headers and side pipes for the Excalibur Cobra:
Here is what we are offering;
Headers
1 5/8' primary tubes, 16ga flanged to match your port design header to side-pipe gasket set
Side-pipes
O2 bungs welded in (not required with Carburated cars)
O2 18" extension cords supplied to wire in (not required with carburated cars)
14ga bracket welded in place to match Excalibur mount
welds blended smooth
Pricing
Complete package-plain, ready to paint and install
$2,763.92 crated and ready to ship
Complete package-Polished Ceramic Chrome, with Ceramic Race Glaze on inside of Headers
$3,679.92 crated and ready to ship
Payment and Placing an Order
$2,000.00 deposit. Half of balance due on Ceramic Chrome Package when they are shipped to Ceramic Coating Facility. Balance plus shipping due when package is ready to ship.
We need to know which cylinder heads you are using when you place the order, so we can match the header flange to the exhaust ports.
We have also tooled up to make just the side-pipes for Excaliburs. They have different angles and lengths than the header/side-pipe package and are for use with the original Excalibur exhaust system. These are available for about $1700 raw, plus crating and shipping and any ceramic coating you may want.
Note: Other colors are available for the Ceramic Coatings, call for specific pricing.
Thank You for your interest.
Best Regards,
Bob Bennett

Radio Question
Anyone ever swap out the stock radio for a vintage/retro style one? I'd like to keep the radio and looking for something a bit more period correct than the stock radio Excalibur installed.

Hey Ernie. Still out there? Guess what? SCCA is having their national convention in Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin this week, and they had a cruise through town on the old race route from before they built the track, and had a big car show after, downtown. I went up and happened to meet your friends from Honolulu that are the original owners of an original slab side 427. As you know they are very rare. I think only 2 or 3 left in the world.
Anyway, they shipped the car to California, and drove the 2,000 miles or so to Wisconsin to attend the show in Wisconsin. I guess they do this every year. This has been a very cold spring, and they drive the northern route the whole way, with no heater! Missed a highway closing blizzard in Wyoming by 1 day.
Just imagine what I loser I Felt like, when I decided it was too cold to take my Excalibur the 40 miles up there and drove my Phaeton instead! Ouch!
My excuse is, the header gasget is leaking again, and I get fumes with the top on. But still, I could have put a snowmobile own and braved it out. What shame!!
I heard you moved to Oregon. What’s up? First you sell your favorite car twice, and then you move from Hawaii to Oregon? Do you have commitment problems?

Excaliber Cobra owner!
My wife Sara Lytle and I have a cherry, 1997 Excaliber Cobra. Would love to join your group. In particular now are having problems replacing the tires. Goodyear no longer makes the original tire and the Goodrich replacements look thin and pathetic. Any suggestions on finding great, fat replacements tires? Sizes are:
Goodyear Rear P255/50 Z R 16
Front 225/50 Z R 16
Thanks!!!!

I realize it's been 4 months since you posted your note, but here goes anyway. You might check out BF Goodrich Ultra High Performance Summer g-Force Sport COMP-2. That's pretty much all I could find in those (or other interchangeable) sizes at Tire Rack.
I was surprised to find such a limited selection in 16" sizes - there's even more in 15", and those are getting more limited all the time. I guess that's why many are moving to 17" or even 18" wheels.

Excalibur "LAST ONE" for sale
I was fortunate to acquire the "Last One"...The last Cobra ( components only)to leave the Excalibur factory before it was demolished.
I need to part with it and all my parts and literature that I collected when I was in my manic mode.
Fiberglass body, hood, doors, trunk, dash, seats & RARE Hard Top!
Frame, Cowl hoop, front & rear suspension
nearly all the misc parts.
LOTS of extra parts:
6 -Compomotive HB style wheels
"Wide" seats
Side pipes
SS over-rider bupperettes
Hoop bumpers
extra drivers door
T-5 "World Class" 5 spd trans w/ bellhousing, clutch & PP
4 speed trans Top loader
Missing:
Windshield
Headlights
Wire harness
Steering column
rear axle
gas tank
radiator
inside door handles
???
Additionally, I have the frame dolly, body cart and body lifting fixture from the factory... a real plus when building the car!
LOTS of posters, literature other neat Excalibur stuff.
Sorry NO MSO but I have a valid Wisconsin "Home Made" Title that I had planned to use for this project
I would like it to go to a good home as a package deal - $15K
PM if interested

Cobra duke has changed emails, I will email him for you.
Also got your message but don't think I have much left but will look.
I think I still have the front bumper & front Lic plate bracket, not sure if I trashed the paperwork or not.
