Tsk, tsk. There is no substitute for first hand experience when making bold statements on a specific issue. I have a totally different first hand experience with CSX cars than what you are passing on from others who you may not personally know. You mean to say you've actually wrenched on a CSX and found it to be the poorest quality over something else that you personally worked on? Or just hearsay?

So atypical of you.

Actually, it's usually the FFR crowd that gets the brunt of your "attacks."

Well, truth be told, if I only had $40k to play with and my choices were a CSX roller or an FFR, I would go with the FFR (don't tell anyone, though).

Ahhh, but you can see now from some of the posts that others agree with me. It took but one post with "the courage to jump on the truth" and then the floodgates open with those that secretly felt that way all along, yet were hesitant to say it out loud....

The first CSX I saw had to have most of the wiring and all of the fuel and brake lines rerouted because Las Vegas routed them in such a way as to make them susceptible to severe damage under normal driving conditions. The second one I saw Las Vegas put the wrong gas tank in, even the filler neck was in the wrong place (3-4 inches off). They had to have known about the mistake but shipped them anyway. The owners were both left to fix them themselves. The one with the fuel tank screw up found out when he ran the tank dry and was only able to put 15 gallons back in.

Turned me off to them!

I have seen the newer ones built in SA next to one of the older ones. The SA built car was far superior in build quality. One of the places that has done some work on my car was a Shelby dealer when they were being built in Mexico, and they said they had to rebuild some of the cars because the poor condition they were recieved in.
