DHS, finding seat frames is not a problem. Finding frames that comply with the newer ADR 3/03 standard is. Not sure if Python(George) have done anything in that regard.

I'm getting a set of Kenmer's new Cobra seats for my car next week. Marty Govert does some of the ADR testing for engineers down here in Melbourne and has the correct jig, so there's another option for people looking for ADR approved seats. I'll post some photos next week.

Marty's made up one frame for me too so far, as sadly those nice MX5 seats I have just can't be made to get any lower into the car.
If anyone is after some MX5 seats PM me as they need to go.
Anyway with Marty's seats at least I'll be able to get a more traditional looking seat and I don't have the high headrest issue to worry about either given my car went through engineering before that last ADR change that impacted on the seats.
I might be able to take a photo of my seat frame on Thursday, and I can also update my built thread too.
Cheers
Slo

Stephen, drop those MX5 seats on ebay they should sell really well there. They are a popular seat for things like Mini Moke's etc. So make sure you put Mini Moke wording in the listing title.
As you know, the MX5 seats are not compliant now for new Cobra replica builds, so better market outside of Cobra replica's. Just saying this for other peoples benefit.

As indicated previously the MX5 seats(50 cm) are a poor fit in a RMC.
You should get a couple hundred bucks for the seats if advertised on ebay.
These seats are widely used in TR 6's etc.
The two seats that I got are around 42cm wide which is perfect!
The third seat is around 48cm around the cushion which is the limit.
I have been liasing with Marty in the past with the view of getting a pair of seat frames as mentioned in this thread and every time I rang him the seats frames were not certified.
I hope Marty has got his seat frames "rubber stamped" by the young mechanical engineer.

Slight thread mine, however I thought it may interest some to know my engineer has told me in writing that an ADR 3/02 seat is fine, provided there is 800mm height from seat cushion to top of head rest without the head rest being 'excessively' extended, and suggested a 50mm gap max. And if he's happy to sign off on that, I'm happy to build to it
That is for Queensland rego, if it matters.
Headrest may not be an issue for me anyway because I'm looking at a fixed headrest seat - they are easy to come by and can look ok.
