New guy here wondering who is the manufacturer of the roadster i just bought.
Hi, My name is Luis and i just purchase a roadster, but i was wondering if anyone can help me find out who the manufacturer was. The dealership had no idea. It has "some" cosmetic work, but i think it will make a good project. I posted some pics in my profile and any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Good looking car but we need some shots of the engine compartment and the interior to make a better guess at it...

Rear leaf springs makes me believe it's from the guy building in Kansas them using the older Acme bodys as seen on Ebay from time to time.

Ok,
Where are these pic's? I look in the profile and all I see is one pic. I click the camera icon and there are no pic's. I look in the "pictures and albums" and there is no user pic's with that name.
I know, I am a dummy. They are hiding somewhere.

I'm sorry, i just changed my album to public, but also you should be able to see some of the pics above computerworks comment. I was told that it was put together on 2002 according to the dealership. I bought it from a dealership in indiana called Ray Skillman classic collector cars. It was a trade in. All they knew was that it was a 302 crate engine with a 5 speed transmission.

You see the light at the end of the tunnel? becareful, sometimes the light is from the train coming your way :P Thank you for helping though. I tried contacting the dealer and see if they new anything more, and they said that the guy who trade it in only said that he bought it 4 yrs ago. It is still a good project car but i would like to know who is the manufacturer so i can buy more stuff for it.

Look around on the frame in the engine compartment area for a manufacture number. Especially around the shock towers and around the radiator area. Sometimes the first couple of letters on the ID number is a manufacture code.
A manufacture code is not necessarily a VIN, but it could be. What are the first few digits of the VIN?

Luis,
I mean you no disrespect but why would you buy a car such as this without knowing who the manufacturer of the car is? It seems like a big gamble as these cars can be quirky and then trying to find parts can be a nightmare if you don't know what the different pieces came out of.
Anyway I wish you good look with the car, they certainly are fun to drive!

Luis,
well you have been given a fine welcome to the Cobra world with this thread! It makes interesting reading, reflects the enthusiasm that these cars generate and this forum delivers.
It is fascinating to look at the pictures, trying to identify the manufacturer.
What goes through my mind, however, is whether the quality of the car is going to justify the cost and energy you intend to put into it.
New wheels, hubs (and that means brakes too), a new fuel tank and fuel filler. A roof, sidescreens, although possibly a tonneau cover would be enough. Wipers are a cool feature, if only to get the bugs off the windshield on a homecoming evening dash. There is obvious trim work that you mentioned.
Thats already a lot of components, time and money. The cockpit edge has some pretty strange kinks in it, and does not line up at the door cut lines. Any changes and improvements here, and you are into a respray.
I may well have made myself unpopular taking this viewpoint, but I genuinely only want to be helpful, and support a wise suggestion that was made early on in this thread - maybe you should just look at cleaning the car up using the components that are presently fitted. Gain some experience about the Cobra scene, and then upgrade to a car (making hopefully a small gain on the resale of your first car) that justifies the right wheels, details and money.
Donīt take my word (I am only judging from the pictures) on it, but do park your car next to one of the other examples of Cobras roadster from companies that have spent years of developing good replicas (ERA, Superformance, Backdraft, Contemporary....). No two are the same, just like the original 900 or so Shelby/ACīs but there are certain details that are consistently good, and the work involved putting those into a car that wasnīt born with them will cost you more than buying one of the better used cars that are already out there.
I wish you the maximum of fun out of your Cobra, which ever way you go with it.
Stephen

He's not the first and won't be the last to not, or never, figure out who the manufacturer is. In fact, the owner of Club Cobra, this very site, Brent, never did find out who made his first Cobra!

The dash and the front inner fender wells do not look to be Everett Morrison. But the most noticeable thing is the square tubing at the rear I see, not EM.
