I frequent the GT40s.com site, but I'm just a lurker. I'm not in the market to buy and my technical expertise is limited to using my credit card to purchase oil and wax.

For those that don't know your car, here's the link (below). Regardless of my thoughts on the SPF GT40's being a kit car, your GT40 is drop-dead gorgeous.

And if it weren't too confining (i.e., claustrophobic), I would have purchased one instead of my Kirkham. They were roughly the same price in roller status back in 2007-2008. And they're still pretty close in price.

Don't get me wrong the modern Porsche is a fantastic car. If I had a 6-car garage, I'd own one. However, I live in Silicon Valley, and while the GT3 is more rare, Porsche's (and Audi's, BMW's, etc.) tend to be somewhat ubiquitous.

The GT40 is not. You just can't drive them and leave them parked outside like you could with a Porsche.

We can compare 1/4 mile, 0-60, and lap times at any of the following tracks: Big Willow, Streets of Willow, Button Willow, Laguna Seca, Sears point or Thunderhill. Let me know when you would like to meet, preferably when they are having a lapping day. I have GPS equipment that can measure acceleration in both cars.

Good old Mike has dropped an alloy 302 1x4bbl with a solid lifter "LeMans spec" cam and his car is not finished. From the sound of it, he sounds like a waxer just like me.
