Fred, I designed my car for a T56. I am thinking I need to fix this entire powertrain thing and put in what I designed.

I was wondering what rear gear you have.

From this I am guessing that your door has an electric opener. Doesn't it have the obstruction setting that will stop it if it hits anything above the floor? Mine is adjustable and I had to adjust it as I had it so sensitive that just then rubber seal hitting the floor would cause it to go back up. also the newer ones have a light beam across them at a set level and anything breaking it before the door is closed will cause it to reverse and go back up.
You Cobra sure is taken care of. If mine had that much work and care on it, I am sure it would figure I had sold it.

I am really having a time of it. Thank the lord I do not have to deal with illness on top of all these things breaking.

I ahve the 3.7 rear gears.Which makes 6th gear useable at 75-80 mph.
During a trip to Austin,200 miles one way,I got close to 20 mpg being able to run at 80 (and a lot higher) in 6th.

Tru,

This is definitely what you need in your garage to lay on while deciding what your next move, (disaster), will be.

Yeah, I caught that. Technically, it is not a bed...yet.

What should I do with all those piercings that I don't have.

Fred, I actually have a bit more than the 4:11. So, what do you turn at 70 with the 3:7 rear gear?

2200 rpm at 70 mph.My engine doesn't like that though.75 is the slowest in 6th.
It loves to cruise at 110-120 mph. That is in the 4000 rpm range.

For Fred,

I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even
done it myself a couple times...but this one is real, and it's important. So
please send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list.

If someone comes to your front door saying they are checking
for ticks due to the warming weather and they ask you to take your clothes off and dance round with your arms up, DO NOT DO IT!! IT IS A SCAM!! They
only want to see you naked.

I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid!!!!

Question

Fred,

What is the diameter of your tires as measured from the ground to the top of the tire?

Ron,
I wish you hadn't exposed my scam.
I was going to try it out on Kristen.

Seriously though,I didn't know there was such a scam going around.

"clothes off and dance round with your arms up"- That is how I normally greet people at my front door.

Fred,

Funny, I was thinking of Kristen when I posted that. I thought you would only greet strangers that way. Then they would be sure to stay strangers.

By the way, was that 25" an answer to my tire question or another question that Tru has asked? I am guessing that your 5th gear is 1:1, and I was trying to see what it came out on the Isky ratio computer that I have. Mine is right on the button as I have 3:27 gears and tac 1900 RPM in 5th, which is my overdrive, but my motor won't run good either at that speed and I can't get through the wall of air to really have any top end in 5th. In 4th, mine tacs just over the 2500 mark and according to the ratio computer it should tac 2525, so it is very close there, as my tires are 25" from grouind to top too. According to this I have you doing just over 2900 RPM at 60 with 3:73 gears and in 5th if that is your 1:1 straight through.

Tru
Most electric doors have an adjustment on the motor regarding the amount of force on the door to make it reverse directions. I can reverse the door with my hand out and touching the rubber gasket as it comes down. Look for the instructions stuffed somewhere in the garage next to the door. I also have the electric eye at the bottom, to eliminate hitting animals and/or dumb people.

Radio? I have two speakers on my Cobra, and they are ceramic coated.

I have 3:73 rear gears with Tremec 5 speed. Fourth is 1:1. Fifth is 0.68. At 100 MPH in 5th, I'm only doing 3000 RPM. Fifth gear is only good at speeds of 70 MPH.

If anyone needs some extra toilet paper, I have plenty ... mostly new

Ron,I was answering your question on the tires.Guess I was thinking about Tru and his trans swap & rpm and wrote his name.

When I answer the door like that, friends become strangers too.

My 5th gear is .84 and 6th is .62

Default 3.70 vs 3.73 Rear Gears

I have noticed this for many years now that people with a 9" Ford rear end will say they have a 3.73.. I have never seen any gears in that ratio sold by anybody.
Just 3.70

Ford 7.5" & 8.8" have a 3.73 though.

Chevys have 3.73 available on most all car/trucks.
Dana 60 & 70U have 3.73 available.

Just curious.

Warren,

You are having more trouble with your headlights than anyone I know of. Wish I was close enough to try and help you with them. Mine has a low bean lead. If yours does try to find where it goes and see if you can put voltage on it and get the lights to light. One other solution, ( just a joke ), move the headlights down lower so you can drive on high beam all the time.

Kristen,

Sounds as if Peter had a great time. Wish I could lose about 60 pounds.

I have a post running for converting to the T56.

I have 26" tires. That will make a difference.

I am still trying to contact the insurance company, they have phone tag iidis or something. I call. leave a message and then they call and leave a message at a phone I tell them I will NOT be at. This is office humor...I can tell.

Warren, did you get the relay thing worked out???
