Good Man Blitz.

Blitz You may have to slip your clutch some and apply the accelerator as much as possible and get to those shift points as soon as you can.
Remember, commit to a shift, don't play around ( I would power shift (if the shifter is up to it) and crack back on the gas pedal a little and get right back into applying the gas as needed). sometimes granny shifting fast hangs up a TKO.
Could you post your type of transmission and clutch, and rear gear ratio again.
Half shafts worry me a little. If one breaks, whooooa look out!!
This is going to test your car especially if the track has some moose juice on it.
Practice means alot and it will strain your parts too.
I'm ready for this.
My daughter is in the AIR FORCE at Nellis AFB. I may send her there to observe if she can.

All -

Folks should hold off before making any travel plans. It turns out that I have to do an event at the Library of Congress on March 8 but my assistant hadn't put in my calendar. So Blitz is kindly looking into the 9th.

Darn, I just hate when the Library of Congress messes with a good race.

Rumor has it, Keith likes those 2nd gear starts. I doubt the clutch would live long enough to complete three runs though. Oh wait, you only have to win ONE.

Hell yeah, 2nd gear baby, cook the clutch not the tires!

Keith! Don't leave us hanging like that! Tell us about the car. Blitz professes great ignorance (in so many things). The race is booked, so no harm can be done. -Tom

You know it's interesting to note that the Ferrari 60 foot time, at 1.9, is comparable to many high powered Cobras. Because of traction issues a 2.0 60 ft time is often "normal" for a Cobra.

Hmmmm,,, with equal 60 ft times, a Keith Craft built car and engine, I'm guessing Tommy is starting to get a little nervous. We got us a race shapeing up...

Ex - right you are. But now I've figured out how to use launch control and correct my rear tire pressure, so hopefully that number is going to come down a lot. That was literally a drive in and floor it 60' number. -Tom

I figure the launch control will limit power to avoid wheel spin which will result in an even longer 60 ft time,,, 2.1 maybe.

....evil laugh...

I would expect he would need clearance from blitz before letting the secrets out of the bag

If modern technology doesn't win, then something is wrong with the ferrari.

Not everyone, can finess a high powered stick shift, down a track, but unless you have a regular track car, there is no way for the average guy, to launch and get the consitency of shifts, to win race after race.

Anyone who has a few weeks seat time, with a modern supercar, that has all the bells and whistles, can make it go in a straight line.
