And why is NYG fixated on me and the OP? I posted a car that is available and made no further posts regarding this and the OP. I would assume the OP had no interest in the car so I posted nothing further related to the offer.

NYG seems to think we operate out of a chicken coop. Perhaps we don't have have the high dollar Rodeo Drive setup of some, but we do just fine. What I do not understand is what he is doing here other than trolling. He thinks Cobras are "hot rod, kit cars" and since he really has no chance of owning one he must denigrate those who have sincere interest in one.

He has history here, not good mind you, but Patrick is right, his posts can be enjoyable in a “what a complete loser” kinda way. You just have to quickly recognize that his posts are complete unadulterated nonsense and his comments about Cobras in particular are worthless, because he’s never owned one, though he may have test driven one once, possibly in his dreams. We’ll never know for sure.

The worst thing you can do is be impulsive and buy the wrong car. After owning my car for 3 years now my advice would be to stay patient and wait for the color combo and drivetrain setup you can live with. I absolutely love my superformance and believe it is a great replica. Please keep in mind that mileage doesn’t mean too much regarding these cars.... you are likely to find a car with 1000 miles that is in worst shape than a car with 10k miles that has been properly sorted. I purchased my car with roughly 11k miles and after a year decided to tear it down and build it like I wanted it. My car was commissioned in 2004 and now has 15k miles. I don’t have any experience with BDR cars but from the research I did at the time and the owners I spoke with I decided to go with SPF. Hang in there and you will come across the right car.

He'll even throw in some static cling Meatballs.

And you're a lawyer? Spending too much time at the oyster bar lately?

I think most of us Cobra owners and prospective Cobra owners living here in beautiful CA would prefer NOT to have to spend our time with multiple visits to the DMV, BAR, B&L Inspection and CHP.

I'm sure there are plenty of blue/white or red/white SPF's with the SB100 exemption right here in CA.

Jeez, from all the postings on here it sounds like that SB100 thing is pretty easy anymore. I can't recall the last time someone around here had any sort of problem with it.

That pretty much depends on which DMV you are at. Now that they have gotten all of the ones that were registered before we had SB-100 the numbers aren't gone the first day but some DMVs here, especially the one here where I live are almost impossible to get them to do anything. But if you go to one of the DMVs that are friendly and will help people it is now mostly a matter of time, trips and buckets of money.

Ten years removed from my SB100 ordeal, I still have a bad taste left in my mouth. I'd rather buy a Cobra with an existing SB100 exemption, if I had to do it all over again.

Long story, which I detailed here a very long time ago, I remember having to chase around a FedEx truck driver for my REVISED SB100 certificate, because at my original visit on January 2nd, 2008, I believe, the DMV mixed up my paperwork with another gentleman applying for an SB100 exemption. He got my SB100 certificate and I got his SB100 certificate. And that was just the darn initial DMV visit, never mind the BAR referee "kicking me to the curb" for failing to do something (paperwork or mechanical, can't recall now), thus having to make another appt. and come back.

I'm sure getting a dimwit at the DMV or a difficult BAR inspector are issues that haven't disappeared or been resolved in the last 10 years.

Ehhhhh, how hard can it be? Just do like Ron said and go to a friendly DMV, throw money in whatever direction they point, and soon you'll be dancing down the aisle with your SB100 in hand.

That VIN number looks like it's from a C code '65 Mustang convertible or similar. Not sure that will fly in most states these days?

That doesn't fly in CA, so that car cannot be legally registered in CA with that VIN#. Pre-dates SB100 rules, but I don't believe you can affix a 1965 Mustang VIN to a Cobra replica and register it in today's world. Red flag!
