Damnnnnn,
I had the name of the company and phone# of the Co. that made them for CR's but the guy that bought my business absconded with all my old files!
I remember it as a U.S. company and it was an Injection Moulding Co. .
Sorry that's the best I can come up with.

Cpteddie,
If it's all right with you we can go with the 3M vinyl tape/shield. I can have Chad order it if you want. This stuff is pricey for what you get but works fabulously and can be replaced anytime (couple years) that it may need it without harming the paint at all! It's totally clear too.
Its been awhile since I've posted an update on the build. Gets a little depressing every now and then. Here's where we're at...
We have something not right with the C6 tranny. When we get the engine fired up (more on that) the car doesn't want to move until the RPMs get above 3500. She won't even creep along at idle. Most people we have talked to, think the stall on the converter is not the issue and it must be something not engaging correctly in the C6.
I went ahead and got a brand new AOD with matched converter from TCI. Its been bench tested and dyno'ed. We have the car on the calendar to get the trannys swapped out on the 21st. I'll have to get a new driveshaft made after the swap.
The next issue is now the engine doesn't want to fire. Thought the Holley might be the issue after all the electrical and fuel issue DV worked though a month or so ago. He swapped it out with a Carter/Edelbrock, but after starting right up a couple time. Now she doesn't want to fire up and seems to get flooded almost immediately. Not good
Well the car did get winched onto the trailer and I got it delivered to Bakker's to get the carpet done this week before the car heads for the tranny swap.
here's a couple pics...
At this point not looking good with the driving season coming to an end
And others, I have just spent 4 hours going over this thread, still only half way thru it all. I positively have learned much about building my CRL, I am sure it has saved me from asking questions which have already been answered in this thread.
thanks tons for the time spent documenting this build

abram9978,
Very easy to install too. As far as I know, no one makes "Pre-Moulded" ones to fit (CR's). This material is very easy to cut (household scissors) bend it by hand to fit the shape and use body filler to glue them in place.

So much more to come. Didn't mean to leave anyone hanging, but this car is a stubborn ol' cuss. Now it is running right, starting right, moving very, very right, and will be back in the shop tomorrow to finally get to final assembly - buffing - polishing, AND cleaning.

Sorry for the information black out. But I'm not going to post any additional details on the car, until its done and back home with me. The last phases of the build has really put a bitter taste in my mouth with regards to the build. I don't even want to start going into any detail of the amount of problem after problem or the near "heart attacks" I've had with comments like "we got it running, but we smell coolant in the exhaust". And if I'd throw out any of the $$$ that have been thrown at this to get it done
The timeline now is... it will be done just in time to roll it off the trailer and into my garage for the winter
DV is free and more than welcome to post the final steps of the build.

OK
I hope I'm really not setting myself up for another kick to the boys?
I'll be at DVs this Saturday to go over the (hopefully) last short list of things to be done I've been down this road to many times to go into.
As of yesterday everything is looking good!!! The new AOD is in and working like a 3K tranny should. The whole "coolant in the exhaust" smell thing seems to be a non-issue.
So.... If its a good visit Saturday? I'll lift the cone of silence off the build thread and take it down the home stretch....

Capteddie,
I'm sorry to hear your enthusiasm has gone south. I hope you get some good seat time before the winter hybernation starts. You sound like you really hit a low spot and from there things can only get better. Hang in there and good luck.
Hey: Cap: Keep the chin up. Unfortunately, this is the nature of the beast, or snake, or lady, or what ever we want to call it, and at times they seem to get the best of us.
While not with Cobras, I have done this several times over and these things always have a mind of their own. Some of these cars just like to dance more that others, and sometimes they are like a strong willed woman, they want to back lead. "you gotta be a dancer to understand that one".
The wrinkle will get ironed out, and eventually she will come around to seeing it your way and she will be submissive and responsive to you.
Positive thoughts are coming your way, and if for nothing else you gotta remain positive for me so i can get this beast done.

Maybe if "He's" happy enough he will show me how to get pictures to post using this MAC!
I Just drove a custom Willy's I have been building for some time, with some (?) major HP! Pro-Street, brand new M/T wheels(30+ inches wide). Took it for an alignment, Locked up the brakes, front wheels locked and the rear wheels REFUSED to quit pushing! I had the wheels turned hard right and the darn thing, with all brakes maxed out kept pushing the car in a straight line! Dug two trenches in a hard packed gravel driveway for over twenty feet! 30"'s wide and literally about 4 inches deep! Not fast, but Dang ........ it wouldn't stop!
Well made it back from the shop. (battling a nasty cold, so the drive back was a killer)
Sorta wished we were farther along when I got there, but at least she is running and moving under her own power now. Still needs some dialing in and fine tuning. I'll let my engine guy and his chassis dyno handle that after the car comes home.
DV has set the 24th as the pickup and go date!!!! If he misses that date. You all can send flowers and condolences to Mrs. DV
Ahemmmm, cough, cough..... Gee...I don't remember missing any dates!/?
DV
Uhhh Ok....
Here's my short list for the race to the 24th.
1) install 4 point belts
2) install seats
3) install roll bar
4) re-install shifter bezel and boot
5) swap out AOD shifter knob
6) install mirrors
7) install fire extinguisher
8) install wind wings
9) fix tach switch settings
10) install driver door cable and door
11) glue down front passenger bumper grommets
12) check and fine tune fit of doors, hood and trunk
13) install 3M clear shield
14) paint touch up and final buff
15) one last nose to tail check and clean
Did I miss anything? 13 days and counting down
