I had cars with a proper dimmer switch. Dad had the Harley and I have seen a few around. I have a couple pictures too. Still use some of the word in your other thread. Maybe part of the culture I grew up in too. I turned 37 the 9th of this month. I just realized I had my car for 10 years. Yikes.
The brakes, the oldest I had to deal with was my '69 Coronet 500 convertable with no power steering and 4 wheel unassisted drum brakes which meant you may or may not stop and if you did there was no guarantee you would be in the lane you started in!

What, did you say something?
Old is when you can't see to find your blinking glasses, and you can't hear your kids yelling at you to tell you where they are.
Old is when you talk to someone and say "your only ____ years old, heck I can't even remember when I was that age.
Old is if you lived in the "black and white days"
What!, Dammit I can't hear you, Did you say somthing?

Brent,
I just dug through 40 years of records and found out that I was 37 once. I would never have believed it otherwise. I can't even remember the day I was born.

I am gonna scrapbook from 9 am til 10 pm. I hope. I think. I'm gonna!
I am bored. restless. No, not bored. what is it? I've never been bored. But there is a difference between 'bored' and too much junk to do. This school project is moving along. Due next Friday, then on the the next one.
my hubby is getting on my nerves.
although he did bring me my cup of coffee a few minutes ago....
#1 son is 'freshman class president', and went with the freshmen to a Ranger's game last night. School sponsored, back to school get together with old friends, incoming new friends. Nobody wanted to be class pres. Not one person ran. . So, his English teacher asked him if he'd do it.... so here we are. I'm sure he (me) will have to help with homecoming, etc.
oh well.
#2 son is in football day camp this week. Ends today. not too bad. He is going with a friend this weekend for a mini trip. Good.
girls. hmmm. #1 girl did a friends' VBS this week. That's done. #2 was supposed to do ballet camp, but it didn't come together. good. Next week, nothing going on. Guess we'll go to uniform store, and also get school shoes. All 4 got haircuts this week.
I was bored on the computer last night, you ought to go find some of my posts....
seeya!
Kristen

Kristen,
People around here are bored too. This heat is really making it hard on many as we all hate to just stay inside all day, but can't take the heat strokes to get out and do much. Oh to be young again like Brent, and not even know that you are to hot or having a heat stroke.

Hey I am young enough to remember 37, I think.
Really it wasn't all that long ago. I have just had a hard road since then.
Ron,
Do you know anyone in Seaside, Oregon? In doing our research I think that is where we are headed.

Earl,
No I am not ignoring your Only Once Post. Unfortunately not being a female, I am allowed to stay at a set age only one year instead of the normal 10 for them.
Steve,
I am not sure where Larry lives, but I think it is around that area. I haven't seen him for years as he bought a Cobra down here several years ago and then brought it back a couple of times for work and to have a top made. I will ask Mary about Seaside, as she was born in Oregon and grew up there. She would like to move back to Oregon when Jack retires but he doesn't care much for it. Not sure why, except he gripes about the property taxes. I told him the lack of sales tax would help off set that and property taxes in this state sure aren't anything low enough to get excited abut either.
I just came back from the store and since I had a basket of junk and there was a woman that was probably in her mid 30s behind me with just a bottle of cola, I told her to go ahead. The price was $2.03 and she whips out a check book to write a check for that piddly amount. Then after standing for about 3 minutes, the clerk asked her what she was waiting for. She wanted to write the check for $5 dollars more than the $2.03 but didn't know how much that would be. I told her it would be $7.03 and she was amazed that I could figure that out. Crap, I should have charged her for doing it.

For some reason my former girl friend didn't like this.
The couple had been debating the purchase of a new auto for weeks. He wanted a new truck. She wanted a fast little sports-like car so she could zip through traffic around town. He would probably have settled on any beat up old truck, but everything she seemed to like was way out of their price range.
"Look," she said, "I want something that goes from 0 to 200 in 4
seconds or less. And my birthday is coming up. You could surprise me."
For her birthday, he bought her a brand new bathroom scale.
Services are pending.

But Ron, you were 37 365 times!
That small of an amount she could have used her fingers. Its amazing how many people can't make change either.
STEVE! STEVE, can you hear me? I forgot to tell you, no more mosquitos!
Thanks for the suggestions.

Brent,
Maybe I can arrange for you to have some more mosquitoes. We don't have hardly any, but they say that over in the canyons they are really bad in places. One big fan pointed down the canyon should do it.
Steve,
As for the dog barking thing, I don't ever hear that dog except when there is something going on. But I don't know if it is the bark control or the neighbor's threats that have brought this about. As for Seaside, Oregon, that isn't where Larry lives and Mary said she didn't know much about it as they live well inland. I pulled up a map of it and it is 486 miles from here. The map showed the easy way to get there from here is to go to Portland and then across. I believe it gave about 8 hours driving time, but that seems long to me as I drove to Ft. Lewis, Washington when I was there in almost that time. Also I could go over to the coast and take 101 right up to it. Looks and sounds like a nice place. I didn't see any rain fall figures for it, so some of the guys from up there will have to fillin all the blanks. Maybe even some ship wrecks off shore that can beexplored. I really love doing that type of stuff with old mines, tunnels, caves, or wrecks.

I can't believe Old has been discussed.
Man, how old is dirt???
Old is when the Pharoes had your name on stones in temples.
Old is when archeologists check with you for correctness and authenticitiy.
We are talking old.

It is cold here this morning. Dropped from the 106 and humid yesterday to 68 and no humidity this morning. May have to dig out a jacket until the sun gets up. But this feels great. Almost tempted to get the cars out and go for drives.
Also a question. Anyone on here had any dealings with Panterras? I have looked at them from time to time and almost bought a new one back when they first came out. Hillbank has a 1973 listed but not much information. There is only one in this area and the owner keeps it locked in his garage except for car shows. The one Hillbank has looks good but pictures aren't much to go on. Has the 351 Cleveland in it and air conditioning which I like. But are there any problems with these cars, engines, and trannys that should be checked out?
Thanks,
Ron
