The light at the end of the tunnel is not a train
Well I've got three pictures here can you guess what it signifies?

Now, I've officially ran out of major components to mount to the chassis. and will have to break this mock-up down and completely finish weld it and then make all the body mods, mounts, and fiberglass pieces fit. I will post up some pics of the chassis naked before break down. Patrick

Very, Very nice. Looks very good and the initial alignment looks pretty well spot on. One small suggestion, consider enclosing the area around the driveshaft in metal (16 ga?) as extra insurance against driveshaft failure. I REALLY like the bolt in subframe around the trans. I have to file that away in memory for a 'next update' on my car.

Lookin good FP! Just one question. The emergency brake handle isn't going to inter-fear with the shifter is it? From the one camera angle, it looks pretty close.

Jay I've been considering a little setup similar to this.

I'm planning some crazy interior mods, custom tunnel and dash. I'll make it all work.Patrick

Hey Patrick great stuff. The windsheild looks pretty upright though check out http://www.erareplicas.com/427/profiles/index.htm
I just dropped my body over the front hood frame and cowl hoop and was having to take pieces off just to get it on with those few pieces. Have you had the body off and on a few times? Any tricks?

Yes, Mick the windshield is not at the correct angle very observant of you. The beauty of building your car with no rules is if you find something you don't like change it. I placed the windshield at the proper angle sat in the car and found myself staring right at the top edge of the frame, not good. So with the help of my spouse I raised it up until I was happy and said thats where it goes.
Jay even I steal other peoples Ideas found the shifter mod over at FFCobra.com. Patrick

Awesome work!!!!!
I've watched your progress since I joined CC in October 2006. Hats off to you from the guy who seriously questions the mechanics, physics and sanity of air flight.
I've always been mechanically inclined, but fabrication isn't part of my skill set.
How's the body coming along?

You all think this is easy for me."Ya Right"
OK, just for the record, yes I have a knack for doing everything the hard way. This avoidance of the infamous prop-rod was the cake taker. I spent the better part of two weeks and many failed attempts at using anything but a prop-rod to hold up the trunk lid. Few even were worthy of calling a trunk-a-pult. So when gazing upon these pics understand that this was not easy or fun (most of the time).

OH Ya I'm still waiting for the club to get together before I take her apart. So anyone near to the twin cities, it"s Sat. Sept. 15 9:AM - 12:PM at my place. and your welcome to stop by, PM for directions; Patrick

Well I've broken her down to the bare frame. There is nothing bolted to her at this point and will comence finish welding shortly. But I figured you guys might like to see what it looks like with nothing on it.

It's a work of art Patrick, almost a shame to cover it back up again, you really should have gone with a see-thru glass body. HOpe you don't have any alignment issue with breaking it all down. Post again before you button it back up...continually impressed...
What are your plans for a final coating for the frame? Going with POR or powder coating or chrome bath?
