Yeah only a blurb. Which can be described as a promotional statement. Key word statement. Or a advertisement or notice. LOL Only a Blurb.

Am I reading this wrong, but I think the SAAC refered to the CSX4000 and CSX7000 as replicas? LOL

"However, all three factors separate Shelby’s current cars from all the rest of the Cobra replicas, AC MK IVs, COB/COX continuation cars, etc. So, to our way of thinking, the current crop of Cobras are genuine but are not original."

Shelby and Factory Five Racing have been going at it for years. Back in 2000, Shelby filed suit against the Massachusetts-based replica builder, which resulted in Factory Five being allowed to continue building cars as long as it made no reference to the terms "Cobra," "427 S/C," "Shelby," "Shelby Cobra," "Daytona Coupe" or "Daytona Coupe Cobra."

I'm sure all the replica builders were watching closely the outcome of this litigation and thankful FFR footed the bill to take it to court. So the SAAC Registry is following the guidelines of that litigation's final ruling, they have no choice. Now you know why Shelby American has a lock on "Cobra" and 3rd party manufacturers can't use it, the court has made its' ruling.

I'm curious as to how good the Everett Morrison kit car replica is to the CSX genuine Cobra.
Ralphy, measure the geometric apex from the outside of all 4 wheel wells and provide (in inches) to REAL 1 for comparison. I'm betting the Everett Morrison kit car replica is +/- .2" from a genuine Cobra which is pretty good.

Are you meaning, top center of the wheel well? Over the axle centerline, width? I said a manufacture copied an original, I'm pretty sure it was EM. He stated at the time companies copied a continuation. And I stated continuations came later/after many started to build. More bs, they had even gave the chassis number.

Geometric apex = center of the curve = top center of the well, and measurement would have been apex to apex on each side.

Default Hoo boy!! get a life!!!

Fewer than 900 individuals now own one or more AC-Shelby-Ford Cobras built in the 1960's. Perhaps 5-10,000 individuals (?) own a continuation / replica / kit Cobra. The original cars were wonderful, glorious junk! Yes, I really said that, and I have credentials to back up the comment. The continuations / replicas / kits are also wonderful glorious junk, some unsafe at any speed and others faster, better handling, and better braking than the 60's CSX cars. Why can't everyone who likes these cars just enjoy them regardless of who put them together and when!? The market value of the originals is obscene, but some owners drive them on the open road with the same abandon that the owners of the recreations can embrace. This thread needs to be relegated to the scrap heap of juvenile pettiness. Go have fun with your one ton beast with a great thumping V8 in it. Pretend you are driving in the 1964 Targa Florio when you are on your local twisties. Go on a road tour with fellow Cobraphiles and forget this snobby silliness. The work that Ned and others at SAAC have done to document the histories of the 60's cars is wonderful, glorious and definitely not junk. Don't knock it!

Dred, IMO I don't care what motor, suspension, etc... someones car has. I'll enjoy it. In fact I like looking at non American builds. They seem to have less hang ups. Now that doesn't mean I would want at least a Ford motor in mine. I can enjoy some freeky azz green paint and go wow, not that I would do it.

Going to shows I find most street rods, hmmm... okay. But put a number on the side and I'm all over it. A James Dean recreation, hell yeah! Im the same with racing. Why do some have to prove they're manhood posting negatives about NASCAR or say drifting. Were all car guys. I like road, circle and off road racing. Drag racing does nothing for me, but I'm not gonna go run it down. Drifting........ no comment.

As far as what I'm into. The Australian V8 Supercars have to be the best show going. Wish the USA would come up with something similar.

As far as this thread? Real1 wants to be supreme ruler, drew first blood. And seems to want to poke the replica giant in the eye.

Aren't the continuation kit cars and the "fakeydoos" built in the same factory by the same people using the same materials?

Or did I get that wrong?

As in "Sold CSX 2306 to Ned"? Member info has it right there on his post.
Does having a fat wallet constitute credentials?
