Don't need a tractor for that. The LS motor is so light weight you can just carry one under your arm. I'll need to upgrade the hydraulics and put a big counterweight on the back of the tractor if you ford boys want to borrow it for engine lifting.
Cheers

Hi Mando. I'm on a 1 acre block with a heap of landscaping to do. Stingy the tractor has moved a lot of dirt since I bought him. I figured buy a small tractor with front end loader rather the hiring a bobcat every time I want some soil moved. It's been handy for other stuff too. It's a great way to lift heavy stuff into and out of the trailer.
Cheers

We'll let me know when your done with the little tractor Mike - I've got 50 acres and no tractor so might be interested in buying it then!
Great shed. Tried to find how much of that 2K you need for a 22sqm floor but couldn't find the coverage for concrete - how much did you use?

For the 8mx8m area I just painted I used 7L for the first coat and about 5-6L for the 2nd coat. The concrete soaks up the first coat so it needs a bit more paint.

Going by your numbers Mike, do you reckon I would squeeze enough out of a 20 litre kit for my 12x16?

I don't reckon one 20L kit would do it. I reckon you would need 2 kits to do it properly.
Cheers

Nice work, NAD amp...... That will run for ever and a day with plenty of power.
This should also be on garage journal dot com, defiantly worthy.

Thanks Mike - I was thinking about using pine framing vertically, and attached to the tophat. Then screwing the sheets to them. I was also thinking about having the framing sit on the floor, and then the sheets can be 20mm or so off it - allows me to washed the floor.
I am thinking this is over kill - I like the way you have done it. I will just have to sweep up instead!
The bonus of having the sheets to the floor is that it will cut draughts from under the cladding too. I am going to insulate the walls, I might have to go with a thinner batt though.
My electrician mentioned running something like 50mm conduit so we have plenty of room to work with later...
Sound ok?
Tony
Ps - thanks for the invitation too. We usually get over to Melbourne fairly regularly... It would be good to check your place out.

Mike
The Yellowtongue is a great idea. I have recently finished lining my shed with 12mm C/D ply and did the same - attached direct to the top hats.
Tony, I reckon you are on the right track with the lining and insulating. I used Tontine sound proofing insulation and am very happy with the result. I did leave the sheets around 20mm off the floor so it could be washed. I was planning on finishing that off with lengths of 50mm Al but not sure I will bother. The ply is reasonably weatherproof as well. All the cabling was run in conduit before lining was installed. I went with the overkill option so no need to run any more later.

Mike, what are you listening to during your garage sessions............Sex Pistols, Rage against the Machine or perhaps something a little more subtle like Pavarotti and the Tenors?
Whatever it is, it works..........

The yellow tongue flooring is pretty waterproof. It's got a waxy plastic coating on it. Just make sure you put the cut end at the top and you won't need to worry about absorbing water when you wash the floor. I've left off cuts on the trailer for ages waiting to go to the tip and they stand up to the weather amazingly. A bit of water from washing the floor shouldn't cause them an issue.
Cheers

Yellow Tongue
Mike - Yellow tongue for wall linings ?? I spend a big part of each day detailing timber framed structures as a building designer, but can't recall seeing 19mm Yellow tongue used for lining a steel shed. Provided you can score the stuff at a good price.....it makes good sense for lots of reasons ! - no framing, so quick to construct with large interlocking panels - very sturdy - pretty good thermal and water resistant properties - ( but I guess you know all that ) Good stuff !
