My wife calls that OCD, in fairness though took me a little time to work out replying to multiple posts within the one response.

Albanycobra, asked where I was at.
Essentially still doing my homework, costings are proving a little difficult to finalise. The Pace pricing guide is pretty comprehensive, most other kits leave a little to the imagination. I am trying to see what premium if at all you pay for the Pace kit over a donor part type kit.
I want to assemble the car, don't want to engineer it. There is a saving with the pace kit of 10k on the paint, maybe not quite the same lustre as a paintjob, but pretty good.
The Kenmer is the community workshop setup, which a few forum members have used with great success. Still waiting to hear if the body can be done without needing a paintjob, sitting now next week to finalise that and costs.
Resale value is the other consideration.
Interesting exercise!

Most ski boats are just the gel coat, so it should come up as nice as that? Can you polish up the gelcoat to shine like real paint. And can you get a metallic gel coat for a Pace?

I have had ski boats, when I was 20 I brought a Hallet hustler and made a design up for the deck. Came up fantastic, don't understand why all kits aren't that way to be honest.
Jaycee your right a slight metallic shimmer thru the gel coat would be pretty special.

what ever you plan to spend on any kit double it then add 10 % then deduct enough for a few cartons of your favourite beer to drink while you scratching your head trying fig something out and you will be about on budget ,

I recon Pace would have the best resale, Muzza seemed to get good coin for his so that shows potential. I recon the first 2 or 3 used licensed Pace Cobras will go for big bucks as those that cant / wont build scurry for some billet action.
I recon painting is the best result, glass looks good but a good paint job is awesome. I guess with a Pace you can drive it for a few years then paint it.

The factory 5 has a round tube chassis. The Aussie importer gets on here from time to time. "Component Cars Australia"

Yeah Factory five does a nice kit, like I said before I built a complete kit from FFR and it was very comprehensive, great build manual and Forums everywhere with ideas, How many cars have they sold? Hundreds if not thousands ,that many people cant be wrong.
Infact Im still using bits left over from my build on other cars. Chris sells the cars in RHD config so no issues there and Im pretty sure they do Coyote option.

Yes my python is chassis no.1 of the round tubes. They have just changed the chassis latley i think they are upto 102 round tubes, but that could include the square tube early type.
