Somehow I don't think that happened, but you'd have to wait until the timeout period to sell it.

If it get one (supposedly they are being staged) it would be like trout fishing in the St Vrain: Catch and release.

As for me, I can't drive the one I have, and unless a miracle happens, I won't be driving the new one either. My high performance driving days are over and the regular days are numbered.

It's genetic. Both of my daughters have the same problem, and one is really getting worried about hers and she's only 36.

Dear Tony, I am sorry to inform you that you have not been selected to own the Ford GT. Unfortunately, you are not a member of the Ford GT Forum clique nor do you worship at the feet of DBK. If only you would have offered your FGT to Shelby for a insultingly low number, you might have been offered the opportunity to spend half your life savings on a V6 powered tractor car. I wonder how bad the 05/06 GT market is going to tank now with the dozens of cars going up for fire sale as people raid their 401Ks and mortgage their homes away to stroke that check?

Me too, Tony, so you are not alone! Misery loves company. Working on implementing my backup plan now... scouring the McLaren dealership inventory.

Gee Tony, that's a bombshell to drop. I'm very sorry to hear this bad news about you and your family. We've had our disagreements over the years, but that all pales in comparison to one's health. I wish you and your family good health, the best of luck and always safe passage.

PS. Noone is dying, but our eyes are awful. I'd mentioned this before.

PPS. You want to know the scary thing? My drivers license has no restrictions. The DMV eye test is a farce. There is a difference between driving and driving safely.

Rod, have you looked around and considered who you're chiding? Try to be more respectful in your comments please.

Ya, I've looked around. And the one I'm chiding is the only one here who has to push their car. Oh, and the only here who spent $50,000 on painting their car a base house trim color and on a 302/4bbl. Geez, what's the point other than to throw good money after bad?

Since you prefer the bubblegum colors maybe this one is for you. A bit outside your budget I suspect but who knows. You and Bernie could sell those bucket of bolts you have and pool your money. I do suggest you take some driving lessons given the incidents above where your right foot got ahead of your driving skills.

$259,000? For a replica? DuPont Registry?

Or you can buy the red GT40 on CobraCountry asking $133,500. I'd rather have a real factory production car. Better in every way for $260,000. Porsche. There is no substitute.

I love the "details," "8 cylinder engine."

Not my favorite color, but at least it's a color.

Rod, I'll just say this. You're not the first who has tried to poopoo my car. The list is long and undistinguished. I do feel bad for some but the fact remains however unsavory it is for some, it does not matter if you're driving a chrome Cobra or a Heritage Ford GT, or for that matter a brand new V6 powered half million dollar rolling eco-boost commercial. When my kit car, replica, fake, whatever you want to call it, GT40 pulls in the same lot as whatever you have brought, the disappointment is going to powerful and long lasting. There are people in this thread with first hand knowledge whether they will admit it or not. You will go home with the same feeling you had when you saw your favorite girl Suzy kissing the new boy in 2nd grade. About all that is left to say is I'm sorry...

I doubt it, only one of you will be pushing their car. And it ain't gonna be 3170.
