King Kalipers in Peabody MA has rebuilt the Girling calipers on my Healey. They coat the calipers after cleaning with what they call Kalkote It's not cad plating, but it looks real close and they are quite reasonable. I just brought them the new stainless pistons and seals to make things easier. Might be worth checking out if you're in the area: !Heavy Duty Brake Parts and Supplies - King Kalipers Home Page Happy New Year, Rick |

Cool car, not a real M |
It's not an original M but is it a dealer M by chance? 100's could be factory M's but also could have a M kit installed. AH made them both ways.
Larry |
My Healey guy told me the same but a factory M is the dollar bringer.
Dealer prepped cars are more a std value. I am told...... |
As a serial Healey owner over here, I can tell you Jeff's friend is correct.
Roger |
Oh definitely! The one I would like to have is an S!

There were about 640 factory built 100Ms that featured larger carbs, different cam, high compression pistons, a cold air box for the carbs and a louvered bonnet with bonnet strap. These cars are well documented. There were also 500 LeMans Conversion kits, that were used by dealers and private owners to convert their cars to M Specs, generally without the high compression pistons. These are properly known as "LeMans" cars and not 100Ms. There are very few documented in-period LeMans cars and they are worth considerably less than the 100Ms. Finally, there have been lots of later LeMans conversions, even to this very day.
Because the 100M is so valuable, a good one sells in the $200k range, there has been significant misrepresentation of these cars, both purposely and accidentally. Anyone planning to buy one now really needs to talk to a 100M expert first. And as Larry says, the one to have is the 100S, a factory race car of which 50 were made. They change hands in the $2-3 million atmosphere. One of the greatest experiences in my Healey life was driving this one originally owned and raced by actor Jackie Cooper http://i57.tinypic.com/260dbg3.jpg |

Well done! Bravo, much better said than I. Very cool little car though. |
Jeff, I apologize for this hijack but I had to post this pic in our brief discussion of the AH 100. This is an ex werks 100S I saw a few years ago in San Diego. It was beyond spectacular!
Note the air intake hood above the grill. Larry https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...fa&oe=552DE017 |

Pictures like that are not a hijack its a works AH100 very cool.
Very nice. Picked up a neat part. Can't use it but maybe someday. Double bump air cleaner with old stock wingnut. |
Nice! I have two of them. Drake is now reproducing them. Chrome could be slightly better but it's very good.
Larry |
Yep, the part is being reproduced. That decal is wrong for this air cleaners application , notice the decal part number in the lower right starts with C5....
