You missed it on an earlier thread. Have an original top.
Hardware is the hard part. New hardware is different than they had in the day.
Have to have a couple small tears fixed. Worth it for 50 year old top.

Pretty good shape then? My bet those small bit are tough to find.

1985 CCX 03-15-2015 04:11 PM

Robbins does make a great top.
Would've been my choice if I needed another top.

1985 CCX 03-15-2015 04:13 PM

Yeah
Fortunately the California guys have old tops as they are
rarely used.

Car back home, ride was cold as it was a balmy 40.
Was great to have the first ride of the year.
Planning:
Finish trunk
Hook up oil and water temp
Hook up speedo
Get fuel gage reading
Fit top
Stop a couple leaks
Then done...........

Then maybe a new thread with 289 #2. Hmmmmm

Jealous!

jolsen42 04-04-2015 06:47 PM

Don't you dare. You have nothing to be jealous about. Your car is equally as good. :D

Of the weather, mostly ;). Snowed on us today...

The car looks great Jeff. Are you going to be able to see out of that windshield - it looks like the inspection sticker is covering most of it:)

Hyde
Knew exactly what you meant. Must be long winter thing that we all get.

Kevin.
Almost do not notice. Although need to have it on screen or popo will take me off the road for a discussion.

jolsen42 04-05-2015 09:02 PM

Cast?

Personally, I like the comp look of the stamped covers. They go well with Webers too.

It's a comp car, in my opinion I think the stamped valve covers win. :)

*13* 04-11-2015 03:42 PM

Stamped

jolsen42 04-11-2015 03:49 PM

Ditto.:)

Guess it a comp VC.
Will post when done.
Also car #2 coming. Will be more street.

spl310 04-14-2015 04:08 PM

For your car - since it is more of a comp car - I would say the stamped. If you make it more into a street car, then cast.
