This is a really entertaining thread.

Lets make this really simple. How many of you have gone to an amateur drag race and seen a European super car do well? And please, don't post those Youtube videos that speak the opposite of what I am going to say, this isn't about exceptions. I go to these races all of the time; one here in Fontana (I live only a few miles away from the Autoclub Speedway) who has amateur drag races all the time. And then there is the Irwindale Speedway which has open drag racing every Thursday night.

No super-car, none of them, not one time has gotten under 12.5. Not once. They come and go like a cold fart in the wind. A Ferrari, powder blue from someone wealthy - 13. A Porsche from a very successful poker player - 13.5. Lambos -13. Masarattis, Bentleys even an Aston Martin - in Southern California you see it all. You have very wealthy guys with a great deal of money willing to put their pride on the line and each time their car does lousy. We have seen in over and over again. You can take the Ferrari stats and blow them where the sun does not shine, those are only a foundation in which the car can perform to in a perfect world, perfect driver, perfect tires, humidity, nerves of still and countless runs with the Ferrari Pit team tuning it after each run for optimization.

That ain't going to happen here.

If there is a European Car that does well, it was with a professional driver and are often tuned by the manufacturer or someone familiar within tuning the car to save face. How many times have you seen the crew on the side line tuning the car on TV? I have been to many amateur level drag races - not once have I seen a super car do well. Slicks, whatever - they and their drivers suck and usually get blown away by someone with a car tuned for Drag Racing. So please, lets stop bringing up how great the Ferrari is. I know they must be great cars, but never have I seen them do well once in a drag race. Everyone loves going up against the rich and famous with these super cars at every event, and you can see the appeal.

First - they suck as drivers. They are too dependent on what the sales person who told them about the car and what magazine statistics stated. Second - they consistently lose matches, over and over again. And lastly, isn't it great to turn on a Poker Match and say "you see that guy? He just bought a $300k Porsche and I kicked his ass twice today with my Mustang." Love it.

Tommy, you have everything to lose and nothing (other than harassing your buddy) to win. Win, and your several hundred thousand (guessing) Ferrari beat a kit car with 50 year old technology. Wow. Good for you. I hope you don't sprain a finger shifting it...

Lose....oh Tommy. Lose. Ha ha ha.... Lose, even one round - just one round! And you guessed it - you just got beat by a aluminum kit car with, you guessed it, 50 year old racing technology....Oh my, you better have your stuff together.

Blitzforce - you need to splash some water on your face and get back into the game. Tommy here is just a terrible as you are, his car is not built for dragging, it has no advantage other than transmission-shift which is only as good as its driver. There are too many people here basing things off of fairy tale stats that Tommy knows he cannot obtain. Stop this talk about going out like a hero, WTF is that about? Pull up your panties and remember Tommy here will be nervous, under a great deal of pressure and has talked to many people who have witnessed my observation. He knows he has everything to lose.

Remember, no one is going to see you as a hero for losing or crashing. You'll just look like another guy with too much horsepower and too much money. We have seen them come, we have seen them go.

If you practice a shifting technique and setup the car right, you can win it. By the time Tom gets his sh_t together, the race is over.
